Does someone have ever managed at least once to convince someone met IRL to stay in contact via XMPP / Fediverse? Curious to know any experience!
I told my friend group about it, but they thought choosing an instance was too complicated, and they needed a platform with a larger amount of users because of their jobs.

@synthBirba Sono felice che tu l'abbia chiesto! È ben organizzato, facile da usare, supporta la 2FA e si integra bene con Lemmy. È anche possibile utilizzare la funzione microblog per comunicare con Mastodon, ma il supporto di Misskey è limitato. Si spera che possa essere migliorato in futuro.
C'è molto da fare, bug da risolvere, funzioni da aggiungere, e Ernest, il designer, a volte è difficile da trovare. Ma è anche gentile e collaborativo.
@synthBirba Eh, per me è normale. Da quando ho iniziato a utilizzare Internet, utilizzo sempre nomi diversi per siti web diversi, quindi ho sempre gestito più di un account.
Esiste anche un fork chiamato mbin che è mantenuto più attivamente di kbin, ma ho sentito che è più difficile registrarsi.
I have seen the spam affect #Mastodon servers, but I did not know #Misskey servers are also being targeted as well. Also, #Discord seems to be apathetic about this issue which is surprising.
@darnell I think @jerry figured out the Discord channel whose link was being spammed were not behind the attack. Rather they were being framed because the attacker had beef with them. Jerry CMIIW (I know you're a busy person).
@rnlf@davidrevoy Agreed. The cat is out of the bag. Automated spam sent to every instance, from every instance, is only a script away.
We'll see this happen again I think. And it could be worse - a can of spam with a Discord link is almost quaint. I shudder to think what other image a bad actor could spam next.
