Saw an anthology looking for Santa-based horror but didn't allow violence against kids. How the hell am I gonna tell a story about a Mall Santa that goes on a rampage to kill the kid who shit on his lap during a photo, then?

Nothing drives me up the wall like students citing and IMDB entry as a substitution for citing a film as a primary source.

Most of the time, it shows they haven't even watch the movie they are writing about and that is why their papers have nothing to say.

So you'll give us #DonaldDuck as Wolverine (which I admit I am a mark for) but you're still not brave enough to integrate #Tron and #Gargoyles into the 616 continuity?

I had a column on a horror site where I was doing a retrospective on the original run of called "Just Swamp Things" and really miss writing that.

It was a spinoff of my horror comic reviews, "Graphic Content." I want to get back to writing similar stuff.

Are there any , , , or sites looking for an experienced writer?

I have an extensive background in reviews, editorials, interviews, and more and can easily get up to speed on the particulars of any publication's style.

It has become too expensive to look for work on #Upwork. The amount of connects required for even basic jobs is insane. Considering you only get about 10 a month and most jobs are now going for 12 to 16 connects on average, my income has catered on the site.

@dzedus 163 jobs with $10k in earnings, top rated, with a 100% JSS and a 5.0 rating since 2022.

The invitations I tend to receive are for writing ebooks for less than $10, or AI projects that pay less than that. I would happily take a $50 logo job as it is easy work for me, but I cannot afford to purchase the 20 connects it takes to apply for them.

@dzedus I haven't found any agencies on Upwork that seem appealing as they tend to make their money by passing on pittance work to freelancers, which they take a cut from as they are hooking those contractors up with the work.

The problem lies in these agencies farming out sub-$10 jobs that are rendered even less because the agency takes a share, on top of Upwork's fees.

The minute is saw that character watching from the sky, though... my stomach sank, knowing something was coming.

Just not so soon.

For a while I was writing a serialized story for a website, focusing on the day-to-day struggles of building a life among the undead. I thought it was pretty solid. I stopped writing it when I left that site.

Boy, that season finale was every bit as harrowing as the original comics were.

Both the key lines, "I thought you were stronger" and "I miss my wife" hit like a truck.
