Any thoughts on the Hugo static site generator? Kirby CMS didn't seem like my bag, especially with a subscription fee. They may not call it one, but if you only get 3 years of updates, then it is one (for all practical purposes)...
@wendigo I'm currently using it for "my site", which is a landing page with a few links and a little blog. I've recently added a few more pages and after some readings, it wasn't that hard so I'm liking it a lot. What are your doubts? did you try it locally already?
@wendigo@vanessawynn@benmo@jake4480 as mentioned somewhere else, initial setup is very easy and, if you find that any of the existing themes ( https://themes.gohugo.io ) works for your needs, it's overall pretty easy to start/maintain. If you want to customize stuff (besides what the theme allows), you need to get your hands dirty with (S)CSS, HTML and worst case scenario, a little bit of Go. And also as already mentioned, their docs aren't bad but they aren't great either.
@J12t@evan@liaizon@trwnh oh no! we've already started using the argument "because Meta does it" and they aren't even fully federating yet :picardfacepalm:
@J12t@evan@liaizon@trwnh sorry, didn't mean to flame, I don't have a personal preference for upper vs lower, but I was surprised to see the argument bc it's one of the fears I have with Threads, obviously, referred to technical matters, not vocabulary
Buggeration. I've managed to subscribe my tiny ActivityPub server to a Lemmy community and I'm now being inundated with messages about who liked what, which communities have been blocked, downvotes etc.
When I send an #Undo message in #ActivityPub, does it need to contain the same ID as the follow request?
@Edent As I understand it (and I believe how Mastodon does it) is that the Undo will have its own ID, but you refer to the action you want to undo (and its ID) on the "object" object.
@Edent Yes, that's what I meant, you need (again, my interpretation and how I implemented it) to put the ID of the action you want to undo, on that object
"object": {
"id": "original-id",
"type": "Like",
"actor": "original-actor, same than is undoing",
...
}
@Edent I don't know how it's implemented on Mastodon, but how would it know what to "undo" if there's no reference to the original action? On the spec "object" is the ID and not a json object with extra info
@ramsey@Quinnypig Did she ever come? I know she had an account during The November, but I kinda remember her saying it didn't work for her, don't remember the reasons
@danhon Hahaha, you're already using the whole bunch, "responda", "respondas", "responder", "respondan"...
The difference is not too big, it kind of changes the tone slightly, I personally would go for "no respondas" on most of them, it makes it more personal, but they are not wrong how they are now.
"No responda" is more formal singular 2nd person. The 's' would make it less formal.
"No respondan" is referring to plural 2nd person, kinda formal depending on the country.
@frumble@beta I think some stuff changed for wallpaper plugins on plasma 6 so probably the reason is just it hasn't been ported yet. I'm also missing the earth view plugin but didn't have time yet to look into how it could be ported.
With the administration now recommending memory safe languages, I'm assuming the RNC platform is going to talk about preserving our god-given freedom as Americans to overwrite the stack whenever and wherever we want.
If there was any doubt of phanpy being the best client for Mastodon (there wasn't), now, those doubts are gone. I've said it before, but seriously, try https://phanpy.social and be delighted by the experience
@Edent it's astonishing the amount of DELETE requests mastodon sends around. I don't have exact numbers but it's almost certainly the nr 1 request I receive from the other servers by far.
@Edent yeah, exactly! I started getting the requests the first week of going live and most of the servers I've never heard of (much less interacted with). Where do they even got my domain from?? Haha, the magic of federation I guess
