Good morning from #Pasadena. Cool with ⛅️ conditions today & 20°c (68°F). That’s about 7°c or 13°F below average so if you’re broiling in the north, it’s our heat you’re bothered by, though I’m quite happy without it.

It’s almost time for #AndyTheTortoise to start his very long nap until spring 2024 when he will emerge a young 103 years old. 😆 I aim at Oct 31 to start his brumation give or take a week to allow for possible warm or cold spells which can advance or delay things a little. But I think he’s almost ready.

I got up at 3:45am but I’m going a little slow because last time I checked it was drizzling 🌧️ out so I’m not sure what things will be like when it’s finally light outside. Hopefully dry as I had planned to continue working on cleaning the driveway in prep for fence construction.

Good morning fr #Pasadena. Omg what a change in weather in temps starting today. Still 🌤️ but a high of only 21°c (70°F.) How perfect is that?!! I even slept in after 4am both to celebrate and because we have a dog play date early afternoon at a neighbor’s so no time to catch up on 💤 sleep later.

Haven’t quite firmed up my schedule outside dog-play but if today is like other days there should be no problem coming up with an overflowing to-do list 😂

Good morning and happy weekend from #Pasadena where it will be 31°c (88°F) & 🌞 today. But this is supposed to be the last of those warm-above-average days for a while. Avg high: 27.4°c (81°F).

In the courtyard, the #ChambeyroniaMacrocarpa aka #FlameThrowerPalm is growing another leaf. ❤️

On the work front, more of the same today: feeding #AndyTheTortoise, some watering, entertaining dogs, making beef-treats to spoil #FridaTheBasset & help her feel better, cooking lentils & quinoa, plus chicken breasts, to make dog food & more drawing ✍️ fences or trying to design a fence which will provide both privacy & style (hopefully mission or craftsman.) Psychotherapy in the afternoon; first in almost 3 weeks.

Even though I was able to look at the news yesterday without a major impact on my mood, I think I’m going to skip that today just to be on the safe side.

Cannot wait for cooler weather to arrive!

Good morning fr #Pasadena. Continuing 🌤️ today with a high of 30°c (86°F) so slightly above average.

A very busy day with #FridaTheBasset going to the vet at 9:15am to get her stitches checked. Also need to wash & clean the car as my HB’s church pastor is coming to test-drive our Prius now that we replaced it with a RAV4. The Prius is 14-yo with >200k miles but has a fairly new battery and would make a great car for his son, he believes.

Otherwise, must work on new fence planning as well as wash #FinnTheDachshund. I am never bored 😂 . NEVER!

Good morning fr #Pasadena. I think I may skip looking at the news this morning since I don’t expect much improvement compared to yesterday… Instead I’m going to focus on continuing planning and pricing a fence between our & my neighbor’s driveways.

Yesterday I spent 3 hours walking around Home Depot & Ganahl pricing supplies, mostly wood which are so expensive (probably as it should be mind you.) It was lunchtime but was surprised how empty both stores were.

Today we will have 🌤️ & 28°c (82°F) which is almost right on average for this day! 👍🏻 But it’s supposed to get a lot hotter for the rest of this week before it cools off again Sun or Mon.

As you can see I use steel posts holders instead of sinking the posts in the concrete, in the ground. Steel clamps help prevent early posts failures from rot, beetles & termites that eat the posts if sunken in the ground even when in concrete. Plus it’s much easier with steel holders to replace a post if it does fail.

Good morning from #Pasadena. A little bit cooler today with 🌞 & 29°c (84°F).

Trying to keep my mind from worrying about everything I see happening here and in the rest of the world. The best way for me to do that is to focus on #IntenseInterests like my dogs 🐶 🐩 🐕 & tortoise 🐢 as well as my #HomeAndGarden projects.

So I’m off to Home Depot & Ganahl to price some lumber for a fence project between our and my neighbor’s driveway, in our backyards.

Also did self-care including my 2x/day deep sinus rinse with saline and mucus solvent for #ChronicSinusitis because I can only feel good mentally when my body is healthy and feels comfortable. I also slept in till 7 and lounged around with my coffee for quite a while, working on being calm. I’m someone who almost always feel on edge so staying calm does take a lot of work.

Good morning from #Pasadena. Killing time before taking #FridaTheBasset for 8am for investigative work under sedation to determine what to do with the growth in her throat. She loves to eat so I’m feeling particularly guilty for her fasting but she has to. Can’t wait for tonight. This is very hard. I think she’s given up on food which is normally at 4am. On pins & needles atm.

Already dentist-time again, to get my new crown so I'm up early to do some gardening before leaving around 9:45am for my appointment.

With only 20 days left for him in 2023, I try give #AndyTheTortoise as much roaming time as I can afford, so he can graze and exercise before his next long sleep. Andy normally goes into brumation Oct 31 until sometime in April or early May (depending on weather)

Good morning from #Pasadena. Another hot one in the making with a 4cast high of 34ºc (93ºF), but now it's a nice, cool 19ºc (66ºF) at 4:30am. I'm up early today because I have loads to do, including starting to wash the dogs, a hard but overdue task. Wishing everyone a very happy weekend.
