It's batshit that #Excel doesn't quote CSV exports by default (yes, I know the standard says "may" and not "must" and, yes, you can make custom export templates but what a pain in the ass).
(This is all you need to know about how my day is going)
@dennisl I switched to LibreOffice years ago and never looked back.
I understood that many developers had moved to LibreOffice, and OpenOffice had since stalled?
In terms of accessibility, LibreOffice continues to improve their export-to-PDF engine. They can now generate a PDF that is often pretty much compliant with PDF/UA.
Though I still use Microsoft Office for client work.
I'm curious to try OnlyOffice. I wonder how it compares?
@writeblankspace in these circumstances I usually at least submit .odp/.odt/.ods which MS has full support for. Others are often fine working with that. Babysteps.
Good morning fr #Pasadena. I think I may skip looking at the news this morning since I don’t expect much improvement compared to yesterday… Instead I’m going to focus on continuing planning and pricing a fence between our & my neighbor’s driveways.
Yesterday I spent 3 hours walking around Home Depot & Ganahl pricing supplies, mostly wood which are so expensive (probably as it should be mind you.) It was lunchtime but was surprised how empty both stores were.
Today we will have 🌤️ & 28°c (82°F) which is almost right on average for this day! 👍🏻 But it’s supposed to get a lot hotter for the rest of this week before it cools off again Sun or Mon.
Pix from my supplies pricing trip to #GanahlLumber, one of my fave store. Today will likely be mostly spreadsheet work. I love #Spreadsheets. I use #OpenOffice
As you can see I use steel posts holders instead of sinking the posts in the concrete, in the ground. Steel clamps help prevent early posts failures from rot, beetles & termites that eat the posts if sunken in the ground even when in concrete. Plus it’s much easier with steel holders to replace a post if it does fail.
Mal ne Frage für #it#computer bubble. Was macht mehr Aufwand?
User*in, an.
On GitHub i recently found a link to Tusky instead of Pachli... but can not find it right now... do you fixed that one? https://github.com/pachli/pachli-android
I really like #LibreOffice, but I find even "LibreOffice Still" a bit buggy for work use. Particularly sudden drops in speed when dealing with complex spreadsheets (or for no reason at all)
There was a time when I loved working by computer. But apps are so dodgy it's hard to get anything done reliably. MS Word constantly flashes extraneous page thumbnails & bits of garbage as I compose. Warns me it can't sync with cloud then it can. So distracting. Adobe rushes out updates that mess up so bad I spend a day fixing it. Chrome & any apps relying on it crash continuously. Can I go back to buying software & have it run w/o the cloud. I hate this future. #technology#rant
