@janboehm „Fun“-Fact: Da GIFs ineffizient gespeichert werden (einfach als Aneinandereihung der einzelnen Frames) konvertiert Mastodon das zu einem Video (mp4). Deswegen ist das genaugenommen kein GIF, sondern ein stummes Video.

    Little tip for server admins and mods against the crypto spam issue:

    Go to accounts -> remote -> "mastodon.social"

    And search on display name:

    "Ai Doge"
    "AiDoge"
    "Arb Doge"
    "ArbDoge"

    And suspend them all :nkoHammer:

    Before you suspend check the last page on each search to see if there are other people using the same display name and uncheck them!

    WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS?

    Cryptocurrency promotions now coming to Mastodon in a DM with a Mastodon icon and a Mastodon nickname. 😡 😠 . I don't see mastodon.social server rules saying anything about unsolicited DM promotions, but surely using Mastodon icon and name makes it a scam.
