I have visited this art gallery many times, but this is the first time I have tried hanging out at the gallery cafe.

After being on a VPS with 1GB of RAM, 25GB of disk space, and 1 CPU core, being on my old NUC with 2 cores, 500GB of disk space, and 8GB of RAM feels luxurious. 😅

I was hoping to wait for official Linux support to try Proton Drive, but circumstances* have driven me to try it sooner rather than later, on Windows. (I'm aware that rclone supports the Proton Drive API, so maybe I will explore that in the future.)

So far, Proton Drive seems to work quite well. I like how it uses the same online/offline file availability status indicators as OneDrive on Windows.

I'm still struggling to avoid Google products.

The reason I should want to avoid them is because a Google account is a single point of failure. If anything happened to my Google account, I could be locked out of everything else with no recourse.

In practice, I try to avoid Google because I think it's too big and too powerful, and I don't want to be part of the problem.

This should be easy for me because I'm very capable of using alternatives.

In practice, Google products work really well. 😅

The bass on the cafe PA system is out of control.

I'm guessing they were compensating for the lack of low end on vinyl, which they've been playing lately, but now that they're back to streaming, it sounds ridiculous.

On a night like tonight, I think I probably should have just stayed home to watch a movie.
