3.0 is now out, based on 40.

Among all the patches we've shipped, my favorite is that HDR is now provided by the upstream AMD params and not based on Valve's patch set. Currently I'm working on making an EDID for the OLED so HDR works under 6 as well.

As part of this update we've also reduced overall technical debt and cleaned up our various spec files.

Most of the work this cycle was spent making upgrades easier and not doing the upgrade. This also means Fedora 41 will be that much easier for us to move to when the time comes!

We found and fixed some long standing bugs in this process as well, such as:
1: Rotation issues on
2: Audio issues on some s
3: Image channel switching in gaming mode

Lastly, we have some very cool hardware compatibility changes coming. The OLED is getting it's last remaining bugs resolved in time for a 3.1 release, and a new family of Laptops is joining the officially supported list! Keep a look out for 3.0.1 and 3.1.0

And as always, we need more testers! If you want to help us out, rebase to our :testing branch and open issues on our GitHub!

The new Universal Blue site is now live! Now the org matches Bazzite & Bluefin in level of polish.

I've also made some important updates to the Bazzite site to better outline alternative store and anti cheat compatibility, and detail handheld support. Check it out!

Fedora's Universal Blue has a flaw.

It always defaults to OS Tree 0 upon reboot. That means all the updates likely on OS Tree 1 are not used, because you would need to manually select it on Grub

This is a problem if you are using a wireless Bluetooth keyboard. Why?

Because until your OS loads, your keyboard does not work. You would need a 2nd keyboard, either physically wired or an older USB wireless, to select OS Tree 1

Bazzite for gamers? Same thing

@Linux_Is_Best Important note, we're our own thing and not part of Fedora.

I took a look at your ostree status and it shows, as expected, image 0 is the newest and the correct one for you to be booting from.

@Linux_Is_Best @jorge correct, 0 is the latest and also why it's the default.

We don't work on any of this, it's stock Fedora OSTree.

The way I describe it to people who aren't well versed in all of this is it's Fedora Kinoite/Silverblue with a recipe on top, we just manage the recipe.
