Best superpower? If you accept, a random human's life on Earth is saved. However, in 200 years a discovery will be made, incorrectly making people believe you were the most evil human to ever live. Movies, holo-books, quantum-oscillating turbo-florps and nano-implants will be made about how evil you were.

@Nifflas This is a complete no brainer to me. In 200 years, not only will I be dead, but I will also be completely forgotten. There will be no one remaining who cares about me, and thus no one will be emotionally harmed by my being vilified. The "Cynthia Christie" who would be demonized in 200 years would have no real connection to me, the actual person, or my life at all. Of course I accept the proposition.

Unless the person whose life is saved is a terf or other nazi, in which case 🖕.

@skye Hey, that's cool! I did ok getting started in BC, there's I think about 4 or 5 trans clinics in Vancouver. Alberta may have been ok but I didn't stick around long enough to find out. I don't know about Ontario yet. I was able to get most of my meds from a walk-in clinic here in Toronto, but that doctor said a specialist should be doing that and that he won't do it again. He also cut my spiro in half.

@skye So I reached out to a place local to me that purported to offer trans care and got a woman who called me sir and then laughed when I protested, so that was freakin' lovely. I left a message and an email at their parent organization about getting connected with trans and general health care so now I'm waiting.

@skye In all honesty, when I was talking with the therapist (gatekeeper) I... prioritised getting what I wanted over reporting exactly all my thoughts and feelings, past and present, without embellishment.

It saddens me that you are sick and have a limited ability to leave the house, do your projects, and other things you want to do.

When an app asks for permissions, the OS should not only let you answer yes or no. Every category should have a "yes, but feed the app fake data" option.

@skye Today? Still very early yet. I'm not working yet so that's not an issue. I'm so not up to doing a lot of running around on foot and on the bus in the heat. I may get my car back from the shop today but probably not early enough to matter. I almost hope it's not ready today because it's a long trip on transit to get to where it is, and I have no enthusiasm for that at all. I might play guitar for a while later.

@skye I didn't go anywhere today and I didn't play guitar either, just was on here and also playing a game. No real goals advanced today. 🤦‍♀️😂🤷‍♀️ No car either, but I'm hoping to have that back by Saturday. There's a musician's get together I want to go to and it will run very late.

if you use Linux on your personal computer: what do you like about it?

I used to be super into customizing my window manager, but now I mostly like that it's so easy to install software, and that the environment is the same as on a Linux server

(please no arguing about whether people "should" use Linux on their personal computers, I'm just curious about why you personally like it)

Is as humid as ? I like Toronto and it could afford me some nice social possibilities, but I might be physically unable to take this!

I'm encumbered by few posessions and I have no real roots, so relocating would be like nothing to me.

I'll see how I do when I get my car back from servicing, I guess. It has AC.

I think I'll make a day trip to Ottawa at that time and see for myself about the humidity.
