"The Liberals give themselves a pass on many of these shortcomings because they see their motives as fundamentally good.
But from any objective perspective, eight-and-a-half years in power has exposed the shallowness of the Liberal talent pool, shattered the relationship with the public service and revealed the lack of seriousness in the governing party’s culture, which is now geared to grasping at the shadow of political recovery."

Tired journalism on the radio this morning:

"The Bank of has one job: to maintain the rate of inflation at 2%."

Maybe read the BoC Act before spouting nonsense? The Bank's mission is set out in the preamble. While inflation - though the word is never used in the law - is part of the story, it's anything but the full story. And, yes, 2% has become convention since the 90s, but it's nowhere to be found in the law either.

"Conservative leader calls on Liberal government to release names of MPs accused of helping foreign states “

He won't be so eager for the names the minute he finds out any of the MPs are Conservative Party members.

But then.. he'd have to gain security clearance to be able to see that information, which he refuses.

It's always a good look for the guy who wants to be Prime Minister to not want to see Classified intel.

Self-righteous fool.

Israeli foreign influence campaign must be investigated: CJPME

"Chrystia Freeland put out the bunting after her April 16th budget. The fiscal plan had three targets or “guideposts”: keeping the deficit below $40 billion in 2023/24; lowering the debt-to-GDP ratio in the current fiscal year, compared to last fall’s financial statement; and keeping deficits below one per cent of GDP in 2026/27."

But the Department of Finance now says the deficit was $50.9B.

Oh booooo. I didn't know that there was also an evil grocer in the North.

"There's one dominant grocer in the north, the North West Company, which owns 129 stores across northern Canada.

But a former employee with a North West Company store in Iqaluit told The Fifth Estate, in a co-production with APTN Investigates, that she has concerns that the company often inflates prices beyond its rising costs.

The co-production also looked at allegations that the company isn't fully passing along a federal subsidy that's supposed to help keep nutritious food prices low for consumers."

You do not have to be Canadian to sign.

Signatures received after 9AM will be on the web version.

About 60 people attended the South Shore Ceasefire rally today in Sin So'sepe'katik-Bridgewater, Mi’kma’ki-Nova Scotia. Demonstrators marched up and down King Street and stopped at MP Rick Perkins’ office to call on the Government of Canada demand a complete ceasefire and liberation of Palestine. The rally was inturrupted by a conspiracy theorist shouting and shoving people. Protestors remained peaceful and steadfast.

The "significant opportunity of scaled offshore renewable energy" would drive the future industrial transformation of ocean areas off both coasts through more sustainable use of ocean resources… in other words, a "blue economy”
