@wren @ct_bergstrom @LeeDugatkin I thought so too, very nice typography. Looks connection with the image very much in balance. The image of the animal's tail also looks a bit like the pattern that is created when you divide the image according to the golden ratio design rule (derived from the Fibonacci numbers)
and connect the lines. Was that intentional?

Great also the golden V, as eye catcher, and left of it and horizontally arranged edition number.

@gruber I hate already. I'm still infected by , I hope my immune system will soon kick in. I have to finally free myself from all this crap. The Internet must neither return to the control of its users. And you can get upset about the EU, but that's something I really appreciate about the EU's legal area. It at least protects its citizens a little more than anywhere else in the world. I love it when Germany gets a slap on the wrist when they break the law again.

Beim letzten Mal, als es eine derartige Unwetterwarnung gab, ist die Schule ausgefallen. Diese Entscheidung wollte wohl dieses Mal niemand treffen.
Wäre ja auch schlimm, wenn die Kinder den letzten Schultag mit Zeugnisausgabe verpassen.

@dmoser The problem is that most people don't understand what 2 degrees more on average means. Yesterday I had another colleague complaining about the "autumn weather" (1-2 weeks now). He said it was a shitty summer. But the fact that this is the hottest June on record somehow doesn't penetrate the brain. As if we weren't also affected by it.

I understand that this sign shown in the original message is a backlash against a supreme court ruling? But such a thing can trigger a spiral due to can no longer be stopped so easily...

Ich ernähre mich seit einiger Zeit vegetarisch. Ich möchte auch einmal wirklich vegan versuchen. Aber vorhin habe ich wieder so einen geilen Käse gegessen, ostfriesischen Blauschimmel Käse 😋 Warum geht so etwas nicht auch in ? Woran liegt das? Was unterscheidet eigentlich z.B. Hafermilch von Kuhmilch? Was sind das eigentlich für besondere Stoffe? Oder wurde das einfach noch nicht ernsthaft probiert? Irgendwie muss das doch möglich sein. 🤔

With core, is there actually a better way to write something like a package alias? (simulate a feature like this)
I am doing something like this now:
use MediaCluster::Utils::RoutePathInfo;
use constant RoutePathInfo => MediaCluster::Utils::RoutePathInfo;
RoutePathInfo->getResourceNameOf($objRouteContext);

I would prefer something like this:
use MediaCluster::Utils::RoutePathInfo as 'RoutePathInfo';
RoutePathInfo::getResourceNameOf($objRouteContext)

@rrwo I have few problems with it, but in our company we use as few external modules as possible. Because of each module there are lengthy discussions in the team why we absolutely need it now. I didn't have the nerve for that now. Because I personally do not set up our Perl environment on the various servers, that runs everything via puppet. And then I have to explain exactly why I now need the one module absolutely, so whether it justifies the effort.

It was mentioned by Marc. But even that is not in the core. That's what I sometimes find extremely annoying about . Not even the basic things can perl without first that you need a thousand packages of CPAN. In my opinion a modern Perl should go more in the direction of batteries included. E.g. is actually a very good example. With the golang standard library you get extremely far.

Selten war eine Presseerklärung eines Anwalts (wichtig in diesem Zusammenhang) so erhellend:

Und was ist mit den unzähligen anderen Anschuldigungen. Denen wird nicht widersprochen.

@csickendieck Kein Wunder, dass viele solche Vorfälle einfach nicht melden. Aus Scham oder weil sie am Ende selbst als "Täter" dastehen bzw. die Befürchtung davor haben. Wie viele Frauen müssen sich denn noch melden, damit die Vorfälle auch von den Hardcore-Fans ernst genommen werden?

Vielen scheint das alles egal zu sein.

I think something the scheme community could learn from Haskell is to lean-in on it's prestige. I see so many people post about how they were never able to figure out how to use scheme in any practical way, and most schemers I've spoke to said it took them about a year to get really compfortable. But I think the #scheme community has traditionally advertised it as "so easy, you can learn it in an afternoon!", and so people, often times already coming from some other #lisp like #clojure, expect to be able to just pick it up, and when they fail to they think the language is lacking. But nobody comes to #Haskell with such expectations, and the Haskell community never advertised it as super easy and quick to learn. In my experience, Haskell has always been sold as "takes time to learn, but is worth it".

@luis_in_brief I've tried or tested every software out there so far. None of them really give good results when scanning a handwritten page. You always have too much post processing.
