I am not usually one for those stories over multiple posts.

But I have a story to tell that feels important at this time with what is going on in the world. (1/?)

I grew up Catholic, even did the catechism classes as a teenager at the local church while i went to a public school in a small town.

Parts of it felt like home (the music, candles, smell) and still stick with me. And at one point in my early 20s, I went back to it after moving into the world and feeling like it was too big to understand. So I went back to the church I grew up in as an out gay man and did the shaming myself thing.

Short story on that - it sucked; It was ALL I thought about

@evan had some potted plants to bring in, but we have not planted anything in the garden so far in 2023 that couldn't handle the frost, so it was fine. They definitely would have died had they not been protected. It was a heavy frost

@evan ooh sounds like it was a pretty hefty frost! Very grateful to be in a microclimate here as the neighbours yard gets frost much later than ours. Either way, that post frost check is always something I think about while lying in bed on those colder spring nights.

About 5 years ago my sister lost a book of poetry (William Blake), so recently she decided to replace it and ordered a second hand copy on eBay. It arrived today.

It's got her handwritten notes in it. It's hers.
