I got into computers back in the 80s when my cousin bought a ZX81. I eventually got my own Vic-20 and wrote loads of BASIC games on it. Some reasonable some crap. I then eventually got myself a Spectrum and wrote some more crap games on it.

Although I am now a professional developer, I still enjoy and prefer to play around with old micros and writing fun stuff on PCs.

@britt I feel for you from the heart. It happens to a lot of us. I had a long time friend who was never really into the internet and kept a low profile. I went through a bad period and became unreliable when it came to keeping in touch or meeting people. There came a point where he stopped replying to anything. Never seen or spoke to him for 20 odd years.

So, I now also have Seropositive Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I’m um… I’m 36 years old.

Yes, this isn’t great.
Yes, I’m taking it okay.

I finally have a diagnosis because I finally found a competent and compassionate family doctor.

Today he called me an intellectual and I was super flattered. :cat_thx: We’re going to tackle this (and all my other issues) together.

Moral of the story: Never give up. Advocate for yourself. For as long as it takes. :ablobcatattention:

@britt It's good to have music for each 'era' of your life. It's easy to get stuck, I tend to float towards 80s, but do have greats from 70's (Yep, that old), 90's Brit Pop, a little from 00's (More the songs my daughters listened to) and later, but not much.

@futurism This is what happens when you allow Geeks with no social Skills, to become successful and run large corporations with money. People like Musk and Zuckerberg have no idea of the impact of their ridiculous ideas. Anyone who has watched the Circle will hopefully agree with me that the scene when Mae is having an argument and other employees all start to wander up and record it. Creepy and disturbing.
