If you want to know the main theme of this account ... I generally like to critique things. I usually critique art, books, TV, Movies, etc. And quite often I'm interested story structure and logic. I guess that's my USP or something.

What makes a battle or escape or fight scene in a book good?

Conventional writing wisdom says building tension is critical. Think about your character's greatest nightmare, bring it to bear. What I've not encountered in writing advice is the problem of too much tension.

Have you ever put a book down because it was just stressing you out too much? You have a literary sense it might be OK in the end but don't enjoy the suspense?

This is among the top reasons I end up not completing books. 1/

@futurebird If it's a battle, surely your characters don't needs to act foolishly per se, the enemy could be smarter or trickier instead.

Today we are gonna be talking about the observers effect.

The observer effect in quantum physics states that observing system, phenomenon, or situation will always affect it. Observing will result in a disturbance in the observed system.
Because quantum particles and classical things behave differently , the projectile velocity of a ball is easier to predict than the outcomes of a quantum experiment. To add to the mystery of quantum mechanics, it has been found that observing a quantum phenomenon using a detector can modify the measured results of the experiment. The double-slit experiment is the best demonstration of the observer effect.

A lot of people don't know the difference between capitalism and ... having markets and shopping and little coops and companies in non-super-essential economic sectors that operate independently.

Markets existed before capitalism and will exist after.

Just looking to see if any of the notable left wing commentators have joined Mastodon.

Doesn't look like it.

I've always said they wouldn't leave the big corporate sites. They need to make money so chose to stick with the popular platforms.

But it doesn't half feel like a reliance on and endorsement of capitalism, whilst denouncing capitalism.

You can use more than one platform though. So ... idk.

Flipping it open, it contains notes, perhaps notes the compliance officer was bringing to his desk.

His eyes settle on one note in particular:

"Mr. Musk, we never added verification as a status symbol. We added verification because we didn't want to get sued."

Musk looks far away for a long moment staring at nothing. "Oh," he says quietly to himself. "I can see how that would make sense."
