Used a rug cleaning vacuum to get the liquid out immediately, currently trying to use Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer enzymatic cleaner, applied it over a couple days and still waiting.

Mastodon is the best social network for breaking news from trusted sources. I wish the Mastodon Core project would prioritize features such as global search that would make it easier to discover boots-on-the-ground reporters and OSINT (and no, hashtags don't work so spare me the proselytizing)

@wjmaggos @DataDrivenMD exactly this, add simple digital signatures with content hashes and you even eliminate the "instance in the middle" problem.

it already does if any well equipped actor wants to get into video editing.

sooo bascially every centralized social network is on fire. come over to fedi and its like the normal internet again

seems they have all decided, almost at the same time, to expel view points that don't jive with the narratives the networks want to push.

I do note that all these networks come from the same group of valley kids and investors.

I've decided to build one of my long-time pet-projects just to hone my skills a little.

I've been working on sites professionally for about 8 years so I think I should stick to that.

My most recent job was on a app that used so I think I'll use those too.

seems like a good place to host those things.

The idea is like Foursquare/Swarm, but on !

I know we're all sick of and it's totally not cool of me to say this, but...

"If you aren't the customer you're the product", still applies to the ; somebody is paying the hosting bill for your instance, you just don't know what they are planning on getting out of it yet.

@schizanon i post on public sites with the expectation that the content i post is public, i know not everyone does that but thats the point. that its out there, in the commons, for all to see and potentially adapt.

I expect and hope AI companies start using fedi as a data source. Will be working to put better curated data on these systems too.

I've often said that I miss the , the "sort by engageability" timeline.

I do, but, I there is a certain raw appeal to the purely random firehose of the Federated timeline.

My novelty seeking ADHD brain does love trying to make sense of the chaos.

It's like trying to find dopamine in a haystack.

@schizanon they def started doing that the problem isin't that bit though its the fact that they can control the feed in anyway they please and there is no way you can tell the difference.

posting some stuff on github with no real obligation or liability is a shadow game to appease the fools and feed the concern tolls.

Welp bsky is boned, the masks came off way too early and they will need to shift management or be party to regular highly dramatic fires taking them away from building thier precious incompatible protocol.

@schizanon i don't think they can, i question if they will get there, and from what ive seen, i question the motives of the network itself.

VCs + commons = bad juju

really question thier motives simply for not adopting activitypub while picking up a different W3C standard that is positioned to pamp thier crypto bags when the time comes.
