#Web3#Gama#NFTs#Videogames: "The problem is that it appears that GAMA holders, and anyone who took significant interest in GAMA and the things that Lyu promised — a comic, a television show, a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, a physical store to educate people on Web3 and NFTs, a rocket ship with a satellite — were left in the lurch. Less than a year before the Rabbit R1 launched, Lyu was discussing integrating AI into a completely different product, and people believed that he was sincerely focused on creating all the things he’d promised to in GAMA and the Gamaverse.
Lyu has framed his time at GAMA as a project, using language that suggests an arms-reach approach to a company he ran and made numerous gratuitous promises in the name of. The reality is that Jesse Lyu was the CEO of GAMA, invested, based on statements from Aaron Li, “7 figures” of his own money, and then after September 2023 (a month before Rabbit announced its first $20 million fundraising) effectively stopped talking about it, and acted from then on as if GAMA never existed in interviews with the press.
One other completely unrelated part of the story that I have been unable to dig into sufficiently is RCT Studio, a company that raised $10 million in 2019 according to a Form D filing (signed by Lyu), with Lyu named as CEO according to a 2020 piece from the Los Angeles Business Journal."
“Crypto researcher Molly White skewered [Chris Dixon’s Read Write Own] with the delight of Pete Wells after downing an Almond Joy cocktail at Guy Fieri’s Flavortown.”
In the recently resurfaced debate about #solarpunk (or lunarpunk) aspects of #web3 and #blockchain I'm intrigued by one aspect:
Why do we accept being given a solution without outlining the problem in the first place?
Why don't we listen to #DAO pitches instead of asking ourselves how we want to run our communities, how do we want to make decisions, vote, discuss things?
Just stating the problem first would make it very clear that there are multiple technical solutions, not just the Web3.
Does anyone here have experience with #farcaster / #warpcast of #LensProtocol / #orb ?
Is it interesting over there?
Can you delete posts and is only your identity on the blockchain, or how does that work?
The first company to announce a handheld gaming PC that will run the Linux-based Playtron operating system is blockchain company Mysten labs, which is positioning the SuiPlay0X1 as a Web3-enabled handheld set to launch in 2025. https://buff.ly/4akGGpb#Web3#Blockchain#Playtron#HandheldGamingPC#SuiPlay0X1
Today I have rediscovered playing music from a set of my own curated purchase, rather than from an algorithm of recommendations. My musical tastes are much more varied than the algorithm would suggest! #ai#algorithm#web3#streaming
A collection of Web3 Quotes, that I assembled over time (since 2020 or so), mainly from cryptoskeptics of course, but there might be a few from crytobros or Bitcoin maximalists, marked with 🤡, as sarcasm… if I find any worth of being published.
““Who are you to say that speculation isn’t a legitimate use case?”
I've now received 3 separate emails asking me to sell my potential share of the upcoming Fluence Network cryptocurrency airdrop. This project aims at rewarding the "~110,000 developers who contributed into open source web3 repositories during last year" according to the project webpage. In order to do this "Public keys of selected Github accounts were added into a smart contract on Ethereum" which they stored in a single file hosted on AWS that their own "install" script fetches in order to generate proof of GitHub account ownership.
So you can check any GitHub account eligibility on the Fluence website, of course, but you can also obtain the conveniently complete list of 108,615 eligible GitHub accounts to spam with your stupid cryptocurrency acquisition request. I've pulled down my email address from my public profile in the hope that it will stem the tide, but that's yet another possibly well-meaning Web3 project that ends up abused within seconds of its inception because of poorly thought-out process.
Also I never contributed to any web3 repository, so I'm vaguely curious how they compiled this list of accounts but not that much either.
If you want to translate something into a language you don’t know for free and achieve the best quality, I would recommend using DeepL for machine translation and then asking ChatGPT to “review” or “refine” the text. This method can produce readable, good-looking texts. However, they usually contain multiple inconsistencies and mistakes, and you can’t be sure they convey the intended meaning and respect all the details.
Recently I keep noticing mention of web3 more and more. Don't know what it is and what it is supposed to be. If I have to guess - it's web, but rendered utterly useless by snakeoil tech of the past decade sprinkled with #LLM.
We're seeing it right now, mainstream search engines are a useless crap. #Web3 is coming.
Unsurprisingly, #Web3 has an astronomical failure rate. 65% of crypto projects have died in 2023, according to this report. It also says that 72% of crypto projects "born in the 2020-2021 (bull run) have died." Not so much 'to the moon' as 'to the morgue'! https://alphaquest.io/blog/dead-coins-report-2024/
