So i found a new feature....

When you within a folder - like your download folder - search for a file and then rename it - you rename a lot of files.

Wanna know how i know?

I am on the way to set up some video monitoring of an external building that has a history of break-ins.
I am already looking in window breaking and door opening sensors.
But i also want to look into cameras with motion detection.
I do not want to have the data stored "in the cloud" - if so in my cloud.

Is there anyone in my follower sphere that has an idea over video survelliance including motion detection and some alerting - in (ideally) open source and with keeping the data...?

I know that's hard.

Merz hat dank der Generation Ich auf der Flucht vor dem Veränderungsdruck gute Chancen Kanzler zu werden. Auch Merz wird die Konstante der Welt, den Wandel, nicht bezwingen, nur blutiger machen, denn Wandel ist sozial nur mit dem Wir zu bezwingen, was Merz halt noch mehr hasst.

@Parl_Kopper @GuidoKuehn so nen paar Punkte dazu:

  • Es ist niemals sinnvoll Wähler die sich anders entscheiden als man selbst will als dumm zu bezeichnen
  • Die Wähler entscheiden sich anders als das was du denkst den Interessen sein sollten

Beides sind Punkte die mich massiv an der linken Seite stören. Die Arroganz zu meinen das man es besser weiß als die Wähler selbst und entscheiden zu können was gefälligst deren Interessen sein sollten.

Bei Wahlen entscheiden Leute selbst was deren Interessen sind und sie stimmen an wie sie Bock haben.

Wir müssen Themen liefern die die Wähler ansprechen die nicht wählen oder bereit sind außerhalb ihres Lagers zu wählen.

Dieses strategische denken fehlt der linken Seite die jedes Mal überzeugt ist es besser zu wissen und nach den Wahlen ihre Wähler als dumm beschimpft anstelle Mal anzufangen zu überlegen wie ich die strategisch wichtigen Wähler - und genau die - überzeugen kann.

@Jemandzuhause @skLeftist @GuidoKuehn leider wählen Wähler aber nach ihren Interessen und nicht nach dem Allgemeininteresse und das ist nicht neu.

Auch müssen wir schauen was genau den Interessen sind.

News from the workshop front: I have a new woodworking space that i share with @ChrisNap

It will still require quite some work but its awesome and nice and out in the green.

It is also what the dutchies call "Antikraak" - rent out cheap with little rights to prevent it from being squatted. That means that the contract might end on rather short notice.

My workshop on the balcony - woodworkshop with a view - will stay for now. Maybe not for ever.

@daniel_bohrer Yeah, its a cute litte old house - by dutch standards.

The workspace is around 24m2, there's 3 phase and a lot of repairs have to be done first.

But its a cute little woodworking space.

Content list for a kit for

  • band-aid pack for small wounds.
  • saline solution 0.9% for rinsing wounds and eyes 20x10ml
  • wound desinfection solution like octenisept or alike
  • Steri-Strips to close cutting wounds
  • gauze bandages
  • wound compresses
  • pincette for small splinters
  • a tourniquet for big wounds / accidental amputations - including an understanding where and how to use them
  • high visibility vest to attract an ambulance after the call

Also a must: a tetanus vaccination

to prevent issues: personal protection equipment and don't wear gloves around rotating machines.

To improve your healing chances please think beforehand how you would solve emergency cases including an understanding what you tell ambulance services to find you as fast as possible.

@maxwastaken Yeah, i think several methods require understanding in how to do it.
The tourniquet makes only sense in very specific use cases - but then there's little alternatives and failure is really rather deadly.
