I rely on Bitwarden (slooowly migrating from… a spreadsheet…) and am thinking of keeping a master backup to be SyncThing-synchronized across all my devices, but I’m not sure of how to secure the SyncThing-synchronized files’ local access if any one of my Windows or Android units got stolen and somehow cracked into or...
This also applies to Valorant. I know a lot of people look down on both games, but it’s still unfortunate for Linux to lose access to such a popular game....
I get your point, but that is only 50% of the article. 800 players simply don’t justify the effort of porting everything to Linux and risk more cheaters. Issues with cheaters affect the entire playerbase, not just those 800.
I’d like more Linux compatibility in large games as much as the next guy, but I get the justification not to do it.
Well if you and assumingly many others decided to quit the game for good after that announcement, the number might be cherry picked, but not misleading as you said yourself that you are not going to play anymore.
In that case they also get what they want - solely Windows players.
clicking install in lutris rather than just downloading is not much more effort for the end user. Beit supported or not, a rather tech savvy group such as linux users can handle that obstacle and thus the numbers will not change drastically (just my asdumption)
what is that supposed to mean? when the api charges were announced, multiple subs went private and were resurrected against the mods’ free will. other mods were instituted. whether any of those made any money, i don’t know. keep in mind that i was not one of those mods and thus cannot verify that information, it is just what was posted on reddit multiple times. trying to deescalate and moderate a sub is a good thing and we should be grateful to those who actively do, but holding it against them that they do not take any money for that neither makes sense nor does anyone benefit from it.
is he your superior? that is the only thing that would require you to talk to your manager. depending on the firm culture and your ego i’d consider this: you are the new one. there are minds to make up abput you. if you go and tell them about the situation, your are the one ratting others out and playing right into his hands (by ratting him out you show yourself not being a team player and - depending on management views - maybe even high maintenance). if he talks about you, he is probably already known to make quick assumptions and not shut up about those. by not telling on him, on the other hand, you show that you provide value independent of others and are not easily influenced.
try to talk to the others (carefully) why he acts that way and how they deal with it. it is normal to ask questions. you are the new joiner and just want to get to know the firm culture.

on the one hand i agree: trustworthy does not mean privacy. but on the other hand: ai does not necesaarily mean privacy invasion (though experience might tell us otherwise)
