Journalism censorship is rising around the world, with corporate interests and governments alike working to keep the public uninformed about their bad acts.
CONTROVERSIAL OPINION: Kung fu is not a martial art.
“Kung fu” just means “skilled”. And you can be skilled at anything. In fact, “kung fu” can even refer to tea, and it often does. I, myself, practice kung fu tea.
Granted, “kung fu” usually refers to being skilled at Chinese martial arts. But even then, kung fu is not a martial art, but actually refers to many arts—all with varying effectiveness.
Sanda and shuai jiao are both kung fu. They’re both considered to be fantastically effective. If you excelled at those two martial arts, you’d probably excel at MMA too.
Yang-style Tai Chi is not so effective as a martial art. I’m not saying it’s bad kung fu, just not something ideal for MMA. Even if you want to practice Tai Chi as a martial art, you’d probably be better off with Chen-style instead.
There’s literally hundreds, if not thousands, of kung fu styles out there—and they’re not necessarily related to each other.
More to the point, there’s no “real” kung fu. There’s only skill.
If you want more judges on the Supreme courts and throughout the judicial systems then you must vote for President Biden in eleven months 2024 setting this election out then what?👇
With respect to @caseynewton and his colleagues at Platformer, it's long past time to fish or cut bait with Substack.
The platform isn't at a crossroads. It has made entirely clear that helping Nazis monetize their extremism is part of the business model, and that while even mild "porn" is unacceptable, the worst kind of extremism is allowed. Substack is a vile publishing partner, period.
Platformer is at the crossroads, and it needs to turn elsewhere. Now.
@dangillmor I'd be up for porn, it works for Reddit, you have to go looking for it but it's there. Monetizing Nazis is a whole different ball game. The chose not to have adult content and chose to have Nazi content.
