DAE find the attitude of most pet-owners to be more repulsive than that of most meat-eaters

I’m in a pretty vegan-friendly country with a long tradition of plant-based eating. Most people eat meat, but they are basically sympathetic to every meat-free argument: ethical, environmental, health. They sometimes do an awkward little shuffle & apologise for eating meat in front of me or say they’re part-time vegetarians...

I always had cats around me as a child and teenager, and always advocated against having a cat in an apartment, because I find it cruel.

But then an orange starving baby cat stumbled in my life and he’s more than happy to be with me - even after several apartment changes

I’m kinda with you that I find it strange, that people explicitly buy specific breeds just to lock them in their flats, but I’m also experiencing currently how grateful my cat is, to be with us.

So, I guess just like for people, animals want to have a friendly environment. And as long as it’s viable, this social factor seems to matter more than the perfect replication of natural environment

Edit: obviously also depends on the animal and how social it is

What version(s) of Windows are affected?

Didn’t hear it it - and seldomly booting my windows…

Hm… Yeah, I guess so
Sounds like a very cool experience you can’t really have else

Seeing the earth “rise” in the sunlight from a glass dome on the moon sounds actually really sweet

Disregarding all environmental effects and my probable lack of budget…

I don’t have different plastic recycling bins, but only one.
Where in Europe do you have different ones?
Never have encountered those, at least I didn’t realize it (in Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland - although with some countries I’m maybe not completely up to date)

naeap,
@naeap@sopuli.xyz avatar

Still there is the issue, that recycling plants seem to pollute their surroundings with microplastics by just washing the plastic

Obviously recycling is good, but with plastic it seems we’re not in a place to handle it reasonable in any way…

naeap,
@naeap@sopuli.xyz avatar

Did you answer the wrong guy?

Yeah, I absolutely do get that and didn’t say anything against it

I just never saw them anywhere in Europe and would be interested where and how that recycling works.

It seems it’s also very correlated with education (of women)

Still your points stand, just wanted to add that as well

And you put the piss in your own freezer?

naeap,
@naeap@sopuli.xyz avatar

Ah, ok
Sounds like a reasonable investment.
Thanks for the idea - although I’m not sure if handling piss ice cubes is fun after some time, as you just have a bag of more and more liquid piss, where you have to fish out the remaining ice cubes
Maybe we can come up with something like a piss buddy (reverse camel bag) and a hand pump to spray the contents. Would be concealable and not messy to handle

But by now I’m putting just too much thought into it…

I had a really hard time even finding a new car that isn’t classified as a SUV

This trend fucking sucks, but it seems that there are currently not many options on the market besides oversized und bulky SUVs

Aaah, nothing left for the hideout at the end

Who is this single person controlling all the desktop environments and window managers? Oo

naeap,
@naeap@sopuli.xyz avatar

Because it’s from last year and not this year. And as they write at the beginning, they can’t compare between years, as the weather isn’t the same

naeap,
@naeap@sopuli.xyz avatar

Seems they didn’t test the plaid this year, probably because they tested the new ones and not test every EV, every year again?
Have you even read the article, where they explain why this isn’t comparable to last year?

Although would be nice to know, if batteries got better and with that to include last years winner as a reference

naeap,
@naeap@sopuli.xyz avatar

Yeah, would have liked to see at least last years champ as well in the comparison, with a newly done test

The damning truth about the UK’s 2% inflation target: it’s completely made up | Louis-Philippe Rochon (www.theguardian.com)

But let’s focus on the choice of a 2% target. After the high inflation of the late 1970s and early 1980s, when it reached over 20% in the UK, central banks were left scrambling to find some new theoretical model to deal with rising prices. The first central bank to propose an inflation target of 2% was in New Zealand. But...

I’ve setup wireguard, because it’s only me and an employee using the services. But with that, externally I don’t even seem to have a port open. But wireguard is so fast to be online, that I’m just always connected as soon as I’m online - using a domain and an IP update script

naeap,
@naeap@sopuli.xyz avatar

Yeah, but then I’ve a web exposed service and I want keep a low profile as possible with what I’m exposing. So I guess as long as there aren’t many users to manage, wireguard (or a tailscale configuration) could work out for OP
