Here's the thing.

I have spent 4 years working in and on crypto.

When I criticise it, I know what I'm talking about.

I was drawn in by the idea of a new financial system that didn't rely on traditional banks. I was excited by the idea of rebuilding digital ownership in a post-streaming world.

In the end, I came to realise my idealism had blinded me. The philosophy was largely false.

And outweighed by the scams, thefts, fraud and grift.

@Daojoan I'm curious, in what way were they seeing your work as an asset? I'm ignorant, so I'm genuinely curious. What were they hoping to gain from your work, and how were they hoping to gain it?

Just wondered if you had any thoughts on AI and ? Should WordPress build aspects of AI into Core and what would they be? Perhaps this should be entirely the domain of plugins? What do you think?

Slightly odd question, but what is the 'best' piece of software that you use? Could be a publishing platform, a desktop / mobile app... anything. I'm curious to know what you all like. I think that mine is Descript, which helps me edit podcasts. Over to you!

I wear over-ear headphones pretty much all the time when I'm working at the computer. So much so that I really cannot concentrate when I'm not wearing them, even if I have no intention of listening to anything. I wonder if other folk have a similar, unexpected behaviour!

I was in England today. Had a late breakfast, did some gardening, played tennis with my son, went out to a local orchestra concert. Quite a nice Saturday all in all. Particularly this exact Saturday.

Just a thoought... You don't need the Internet-of-things or AI in your fridge, or microwave, or pizza oven, or car etc. Anyone who says that you do is likely not worthy of your business. The more we connect these things, the more likely they sre to break in ways that you and I cannot fix!

I wonder what you think. Are we capable of having a productive discourse across the internet? There's so many local / regional / national / political differences. Are we capable of ignoring / overcoming those boundaries? Or does the internet exacerbate them? I'm finding it hard to encompass my dilemma, but it's really... are people from where I live able to meaningfully talk about all-the-things with people from all-the-other-places?

I have kids, several in fact. I made it a policy years ago to never share their images, thoughts, achievements etc. Last night I came so close to breaking that rule, but I'm glad that I didn't. I love that my kids get to make their own way without a legacy of my 'proud' moments.

For years, WP Builds header has said "A WordPress podcast packed full of things that you either don’t want to know or are clever enough to work out that we just made up!" I wonder if I should alter that, and if you could help me with it? What is WP Builds? Gosh, that's heavy!

After ruminating on this for quite a while... in terms of the climate and how it's affected by our addition to electricity. Right now you have 2 choices... use less or stop using as much. Everything else is folly. I say this from a laptop uploading photos of my family to the cloud. The dilemma / addition is real!
