It has come to a point that the #Mastodon client I am using on my #Android phone is making my Masto experience an unpleasant one.
My current app says it caches toots, fetching toots in 30 intervals. Last toot I read was approx 2 days ago, and the next toot on that is only 15 hours ago.
What's the purpose of that cache when I can't browse through it?
I really don’t use the official #Mastodon iOS app so I hadn’t seen this change but I took a look and I was quite surprised 😯 by this. Mastodon, and the #Fediverse by design, are supposed to be decentralized. That’s what makes them so great.
But, on the official Mastodon app, the join mastodon.social button obviously gears ones, especially those new to Mastodon, to that instance. The “join other servers” button can easily be missed.
