Lamppost EV chargers are the answer to how you charge your vehicle in cities.

This is possible because when energy intensive street lamps were replaced by LEDs, there’s excess power for charging EVs.

All cities should do this. ⚡️

@lostgen @davidho yeah, plus this permanently turns curb lanes into parking. no bus/taxi lanes, no trash management, no bike lanes, no parklets or widened sidewalks, just permanent publicly-subsidized car infrastructure.

@brett @davidho this is the answer. these people don’t have fancy cycling gear because they are normies. you get normies to ride bikes by building a robust and safe cycling network. very few people wearing bike-specific clothing in BCN either.

i don’t think I agree with this. if the GOP wants to nominate a convicted felon to run for president, let them. the instinct here is “we must protect the sanctity of our institutions” but they’ve already been defiled. what this would really do is put back the fig leaf so journalists could go back to pretending the GOP is a normal party. https://washingtonmonthly.com/2024/05/30/donald-trump-should-drop-out/

the threats we face right now come from the Supreme Court, media consolidation/decay, and a network of armed security forces that is politically partisan and completely outside democratic control, plus states in the south that literally would like to reinstate Jim Crow. Trump is another symptom, not the disease.
