I know I've been excited about Faircamp lately (and still am), but just a reminder that it''s cool if doing tech things makes your eyes glaze over. Don't feel like you have to suddenly be thrilled about web site maintenance or whatever.

There's folks working on more accessible means, including @radiofreefedi (check out https://faircamp.radiofreefedi.net/), so people can upload their files and be done with the tech side of things. My hope is that other sites will share the load as we all go along here.

One of the more interesting things about public domain musical recordings at present in the US: the untreated recordings are full of noise, almost to the point of being louder than the signal, once normalized.

This actually has its uses, creatively speaking, but it's gonna be a few years before we get to things being more audible in the conventional sense.
