Searching for a macOS or iOS engineering position

Ex-Apple DevPubs (12+yrs, remote). I’d go back. macOS/iOS engineer, & author. OCD-sufferer.
Like any rational adult, I dislike mimes.

Unfortunately, still looking for a permanent gig.

Remote is harder to come by, and I’m in a position where it’s not an option.

I have 15 years of iOS development, 10 in swift, 3 in SwiftUI, 15 years in UIKit, and would be content at a startup or a tradition company. Both macOS and iOS are recent targets

My resume and writings are available at httpp://www.arrributedstrings.com, along with some technical writing.

Enjoy! (And hire me)

I’m still looking for a iOS/macOS position. 15 years of iOS development experience and far more macOS.

http://www.attributedstrings.com for some of my writings and resume.

The best bear repellent I’ve found to keep them from trying to get into the composter…

…a trail cam 🙄

Put it up and the bear has left town. You’re welcome Vergennes.

There’s still bobcats that I hope I can catch on it. And the occasional deer.

Anyone have any recommendations of small dev tools they’d recommend? iOS or macOS oriented…

Dune 2 just dropped to 12.99 on the iTunes movie store!

I’m still on the hunt for a full time iOS or macOS position.

Much more than a decade of experience on both platforms.

Resume is available here

Well, Framer may not be the first first for some people because it lacks RSS. But Squarespace doesn’t allow code that automatically stylizes swift.

I could use some third part RSS tool to generate it, but that seems like more work.

Ideally Id like to find something that does all in one.

Allows blockquotes (how can a blog now allow block quotes?!?!?)
A resume
A portfolio
And a blog with swift code blocks in it.

So far Framer is easiest.

Looking for work! (Sooner than later)

If anyone has any leads for an iOS/macOS engineer that has 15 years experience in iOS and more on macOS, feel free to pass along my info.

SwiftUI, AppKit, UIKit, loads of experience.

Composter was upside down again this morning.

And I think those are paw prints on it.

I need a trail cam!

YouTube’s screensaver is user hostile on the AppleTV. It prevents resuming using Siri.

Yesterday they moved the Subscription menu below the Library option, which just screams that they don’t care about who you want to see.

The Library now shows your history as the first thing, not your playlists.

And my recommendations are 50% videos I’ve already seen.

Just put Fuck You on the splash screen and be done with it!

Never, ever, buy Leviton HomeKit switches. They’re unreliable and temperamental.

Lutron, with their hub, is much more reliable, and their Diva switches look like Decora standard switches.

@schwa I’m not sure i have the chops for something that much in the canvas area.

What I’ve seen you do with nodes and such is really impressive, and likely beyond where I’m at now.

So it sounds cool, but likely a waste of your resources. 😕

Two days into unemployment and I have no idea what to do with myself.

I need a project to dig into. Anyone have an idea and looking for an engineer?

macOS or iOS.

Considering working on my own app(s) since finding remote work right now is difficult.

Anyone have any interest in partnerships?

Either that, or I’m going to need to move to California. ☹️

Realizing m, after seeing the total eclipse, that it’s the last one I’ll eve see in my lifetime,

I’ve been coming to terms with the fact that I have, on a good day, likely 20 years of life left.

And it’s crushing me.

Tweaking UI at the pixel level with SwiftUI is easy when you can use previews.

But, previews are useless in complex apps.

So I’m making a 1 point change, waiting 3 minutes for a compile, repeat. (and I’ve got the fastest laptop available, lol)

Xcode 15.3 seems like a backslide in a bunch of cases.

I’m seeing lots of “Build service could not create build operation: unknown error while handling message: unknownSession(handle: "S0")” failures that require closing and reopening the project.

And in SPMs no longer actually preview (Update Failed)

It’s the first time I’ve had to downgrade in as long as I can remember.

So what is the opinion on LG tv sets? I need to replace my crappy Vizio and I want something that supports HomeKit for power and inputs.

Not thrilled by webOS, but the options are slim.
