Tip to get your horrible administrative tasks done: separate them in a cute pixel perfect Mac OS Note Pad on a lovely 8 inch screen.

in 512x384 (*) they look less frightening.

  • couldn’t find a 1024x684 screen to get perfect 512x342 doubled

I rarely use Apple notes.

Notes on both Macs: 71 (OK)
On iPad: 48
On Phone: 10 notes.. mostly from 2017

All logged in with same iCloud account on latest stable OS version.

@akosma @joplinapp I also use Joplin (with my own sync server) which is why I can also laugh at the state of my Apple Note sync status :-)

I suspect having logged in and and out of different accounts doesn’t help. Still doesn’t explain why it’s not the same data in the same account 🤷🏻‍♂️

So I deleted Mona (and other Mastodon apps) from my phone. Turns out I am not good at controlling compulsion and there’s just too much content.

I will keep it on the computer only so at least I will be in position to work when I waste time ;-)

This is why I haven’t bought any new iPads in the last six years. Sharing an iPad with the family is an abysmal experience, and it doesn’t make sense to buy an iPad for each family member.

I am happy that now my 2013 Trashcan Pro sleeps correctly with Open Core Legacy Patcher on latest Sonoma (otherwise unsupported). Goes to 100w+ as soon as a wake it up but it goes back to 8w when sleeping.

That’s enough to maintain it alive. I don’t use it often but I want it to survive humidity.

@thomasfuchs The world coming to the realization (again) that giving all our knowledge to entities controlled by investment funds wasn’t such a good idea.

Hopefully in the future humanity will be able to create systems that don’t depend on them.

I didn't like that Apple crushing ad, either. I cringed.

I understand the conceit of the ad - cramming all of this stuff/capability into a single magical iPad - but the execution was in poor taste, IMO.

All I saw was wastefulness. It's one thing to run with the idea that someone can replicate all of those things they probably don't have using just this one device they could buy right now, but it's quite another to imply that all of it needed to be destroyed for the iPad to pop into existence.

Xiaozhai Tiankeng is what geologists call a sinkhole or ditch, a depression of the land generated, among other factors, by the effect of water. In this case, it was formed on top of a cave and houses an underground river measuring a total of 8.5 kilometers and flows into a spectacular waterfall. Its enormous size makes it the sinkhole of its kind, known as tiankeng, the largest and deepest in the world.
