@fitheach @mooch This is fascinating. In the US white eggs are the norm and brown eggs cost premium! Mixed colored eggs(blue, green, red and brown) are available at local Farmer’s markets though.

It’s -10 F to start this morning BEFORE any windchill is factored in 🥶.
Deer are bunkered in next to the house underneath my shrubs, I’m hoping my lp gas supplies hold out after running the fireplace pretty heavily over the past 48hrs and every plant in the house is well watered by repurposing the faucet drippings. It will be 50 again next week if we live that long.

Me- “I’m a native/local why?”
Cashier- “So how do you feel about snow? What do you plan to do?”
Me-“ Hon, I’m Southern. I’m not going to drive or leave the house, why would you? All these idiot Yankees complaining and getting out anyways, it’s a holiday! Stay home, bake a chocolate cake, make some soup, sip bourbon by the fire.”
Cashier- “OMG, that’s perfect!”
Me- “Learn and pass it on dear.”

“Malvengelical” is the portmanteau I didn’t know I needed.

“Extremist Fundamentalist” is another term more fitting than “Evangelical” for a lot of these people. Call them the same names applied to people with similar beliefs and behaviors from other religions. Because it is exactly the same, just dressed up with different hats and it’s time to stop excusing it.

Moms for Liberty and the Taliban have the same agenda.

@SrRochardBunson It could be weed growers, Meth cooks, ginseng poachers or plenty of other folks that you’re better off not running into out here in a remote area by yourself. “Don’t go into the woods alone” is common sense for a lot of reasons both practical and paranormal 👻

"Tyler Childers brought along a band of long time friends from the early days of his music career in his home state Kentucky with him to Raleigh to perform to a crowd of adoring fans of all ages. It was a scorching day but that didn't seem to slow the fans down who turned out early for two opening acts, who were both also from Kentucky. Abby Hamilton, a singer songwriter hailing from Nicholasville Kentucky, opened up the show with a folk/rock/country styled set to get things started.

Next up was S.G. Goodman, also from Kentucky who didn't have to warm up an already close to being overheated crowd..."

@SrRochardBunson A fantastic live performance experience to see and he’s owned the room-big or small- each time I’ve seen him. He also writes some of the most beautiful love songs I’ve heard in a long time and that’s not really what you’d expect from a guy like that. Genuine, original talent.

I am enjoying the Vastness of Mastodon and the Fediverse as I explore and learn the diversity of everything out there. It really reinforces that not only is there a community of people for anything but a tribe of similar interests for everything. The vastness also really shows just how narrow, blinkered and repetitive many of the commercial social media platforms have become. I missed the broad possibilities and perspectives we all experienced in the early days of social media.

@SrRochardBunson I have already seen so many legal debates about this and all the ramifications. Even more alarming, they’ve been doing it for months without notice. Be aware that as a research and teaching institution any patient and their data is treated as a “product” for Vanderbilt’s use, profit and ownership. Same with all the tissue and dna collected during treatment. Read the medical release paperwork very carefully when they push you to sign everything all at once.

I see you Tennessee Legislature with your treatment of lawfully elected Representatives and willful deafness to the cries of the people they represent. I hope this haunts you and your careers like the attempted Income Tax did to a generation before you.
