I’m responding to point #3 specifically because I have anecdotal experience. I immigrated via a work visa (white collar work), and at least from my circle, most if not all of us do not have republican/conservative views. All of us from 3rd world countries moved because we were tired of the low pay, low quality of life, and government corruption in our home countries. And since we are part of an educated class of workers who actually have experience living in poorly governed countries, most if not all realize that conservatives are the ones slowly turning the country into what we were escaping from in the first place.

I am not an audio person, so do not have much idea about technical terms - but I hear the words “bass” and “treble” almost everywhere now, especially in the equalizer app that came with a new bluetooth earbuds that I bought (yes, I am still very much a wired-earbud guy, just dipping my toes in the wireless earbud ocean)....
The equalizer simply adjusts the levels of the frequency spectrum of the sound you’re listening to. Bass pertains to lower frequencies and treble refers to the higher frequencies. The middle frequencies are appropriately called “mids”. So lowering the treble OR increasing the bass gets you more oomph and fullness, while the opposite makes it brighter and more shrill.
Not really tools, but the most effective way really is to do it for them. Most people who don’t really care whether an app they use is open source or not won’t care about what you say either, no matter how much you try to explain. My wife didn’t really care about using linux, but when I actually installed it on a spare laptop and let her use it, she adapted just fine. I installed Firefox Focus on her phone and now she uses it for quick browsing. Same with Signal for my family. I asked my brother to install it on our parents’ phones and now they use it for all family group chats.
Driving around town I’ve noticed quite a few places in San Antonio are offering free weed and are now selling it. Did I miss something being passed? I thought only Delta-8 (and variants) were available and that THC was still banned. Was there a loophole discovered or will the city no longer prosecute?
I see it referenced constantly here, not quite as much on Reddit. I know what it means, but just wondering why such the popularity over on this side of the fence?

I have the same feeling as you and I’m going through my first home purchase right now. I can’t imagine myself paying something for 30 years, and I’m in my late 30s. What’s keeping me assured is:
Rent will just keep rising, and having a fixed payment that doesn’t go up for decades guaranteed is reassuring.
I got a reasonable rate on my mortgage, but if rates go down, I can always refinance.
As someone who prefers to pay in full on most things, paying an interest sucks. However, I can always pay additional on the principal every month when I have extra money, and eventually pay off the loan earlier and save money.
I’m building equity. Renting is basically paying your landlord’s mortgage. You’re throwing money into something that isn’t yours. At least with a home, you’re investing in your own property.
Climate change can change it, but real estate is historically the one asset that is almost guaranteed to appreciate. If there’s any major change in my life (moving, sickness, can’t afford it anymore, etc.), I can always sell.

The trailer for Park Chan-wook’s The Handmaiden is still one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen. It shows enough to make it mysterious and intriguing yet not giving anything away. It’s the same with his recent film Decision To Leave. I wish hollywood showed as much restraint as this.
I appreciate what he’s doing. He has enough harry potter money to never have to work his entire life, so he picks and chooses films that are interesting to him instead of just going after the paycheck.
