First island exploration of the season: completed! I’m super happy with the swim. I could pace myself pretty well on the way back. Gives me confidence for next week’s 2 km swim in the north of NL.

One thing that I'm missing with HTMX and Django is proper error handling.

By default HTMX swallows any response that is not a 2xx, which might leave your users hanging on an endless loading state.

Does anyone have a good solution for this that can be reused between projects?

Is it impressive to 3x revenue in one year?

3x growth from $1M to $3M ARR in one year is impressive.

Taking a year to grow from $10k to $30k ARR means it's not working.

Absolute numbers are the only things that matter.

Two years ago I bought ladybird larvae as they devour aphids. Turns out that they can’t handle ants, though, and although they saved some leaves the aphid population didn’t shrink enough to allow the shrub to bloom.

Also, larvae are difficult to control. You put them on a leave with a bunch of aphids and they just… wander off.

Als het gaat om migratie, benieuwd met welk kluitje de PVV-stemmers straks het riet worden ingestuurd. Want de partijen willen veel op dit punt maar op korte termijn 2-3 jaar is er erg weinig mogelijk, nog los van de wenselijkheid voor bedrijfsleven en arbeidsmarkt.

New mechanical keyboard whodis?

After several Keychron referrals, I went with a Keychron V3 Max and red Gateron Switches. It's interesting so far. Also, the dial knob is fantastic and 100% suitable for people like me who mess with the sound volume all the time.

The knob is brilliant! You can program it to control your laptop’s screen brightness as well. Works like a charm and feels like magic, haha!

@mahryekuh Yes, reprogramming is very neat. And the great part is that it works on all apps and all machines. No need to sync configuration files or whatnot.

I put all the braces/quotes under an Fn key and moved them to my index and middle fingers e.g ( sits under Fn2 + G. Takes some getting used to, isn’t necessarily faster but my hands are much more relaxed and less tired at the end of a coding day.

To LazyVim, or not… that is the question.

I currently use PyCharm exclusively and it’s great, but I’d like to streamline my DX by ditching the mouse.

I’ve configured a bunch of keyboard shortcuts in PyCharm but some things can’t be controlled with keystrokes.

OTOH, going full-blown terminal will take time, effort and a temporary dip in DX.

@valberg I found a workaround: it turns out that the shortcuts for switching between the editor tab also work on the terminal tabs. I’ve wired the terminal to Cmd + 8 now and the next/previous tab to Cmd + (/). My workflow now is: open a terminal tab, run docker exec -it to start a terminal session in the container, open a new tab, start another session and switch between the two with Cmd + (. (1/2)
