@phranck @leyrer also ne "gute" Tastatur stößt - leider - in ähnliche Regionen, 300 - 400 € für ne mechanische Tastatur ist keine Seltenheit.
Schaut schon schick aus, aber ich will nicht mehr auf geraden Tastaturen tippen (Split Keyboards - this is the way!).
Und bei dem Preis will ich (ganz unabhängig von den technischen Wagnissen bei dem Ansatz) vorher anfassen und ausprobieren. Pre-Order - no way.

Empfehlung für alle Freunde, insbesondere für Familien: Der Con "Sternenhimmel" https://easy-con.org/convention/convention/Sh2024 hat die Anmeldung geöffnet.
Es gibt immer reichlich Möglichkeit zum Rollen-, aber auch Brett- und Kartenspiel. Es sind viele Familien dabei, so dass sich auch immer Runden für die Kleineren ergeben - und teils leiten die "größeren kleineren" schon selbst Runden.

Erstaunlich. Habe Junior gestern den unterschied zwischen Ziffern und Zahlen erklärt. Anschließend habe ich ihn gefragt, wie viele Ziffern es im 10er-System gibt (richtig beantwortet) und wie viele Zahlen. Da hat er erst mal 3 mal falsch geraten. Ich jedes mal "zähle 1 dazu". Ist dann auf die korrekte Antwort gekommen (unendlich).
Schon erstaunlich für einen 7-Jährigen.

Ne Website der Filmindustrie, wo ich DRM-frei (macht halt n personalisiertes Wasserzeichen rein von mir aus) Filme in 4K oder 1080p AV1 und mit allen Sprachen, Untertiteln und Audiokommentaren kaufen kann. Ich würde 25 € pro Film zahlen. 35 € wenn's noch umfangreiches Bonusmaterial gibt.

mit zwei Blu-rays desselben Films, eine Englisch für die Bonusfeatures und eine Deutsch für die Tonspur, im Einkaufswagen gesendet

Klage wegen Nachzucht aus patentierten Samen. Ich meine mich sogar an einen absurden Fall zu erinnern (finde aber keine Quelle mehr - take it with a grain of salt), wo ein unbeteiligter Farmer verklagt wurde, weil patentierte Pflanzen auf seinen Feldern gefunden wurden - hatten sich halt ausgesät...

Amazon packt in jeden Link automatisch einen Referer-Identifier ran. Vermutlich um zu tracken, welcher Link (falls eingeloggt: Mit Bezug zum ursprünglichen Useraccount) wie und wie häufig weitergegeben wird.
Zumindest wäre das technisch möglich.

Haßbro geht pleite, und versucht sich durch Verkauf von Dragons und Dungeons an Tencent zu retten.

Die Idee war eigentlich, das an Larian zu verticken. Das sah nach BG3 wie ein schlauer Move aus.

Aber Larian hat nicht genug Asche, und Tencent, die an Larian beteiligt sind, wurden dann von Larian in den Deal gezogen.

Larian ist nicht der schlechteste potentielle Eigner, aber jetzt ist VC in DnD enthalten, Enshittification wird unweigerlich folgen.

Oh schau, ein neuer Roman von Cory Doctorow @pluralistic auf Kickstarter! Eigentlich sind seine Bücher ja immer gut, also ist Backing (Platz 50 💪) schon fast ein no-brainer 😉

Hey #electronics folks! <3 I want to build a CO2 sensor with a battery life of several months. First using prototyping boards, then maybe as a custom PCB.

Some questions:

  1. What kind of approach/device would you suggest to measure the power consumption of such a device? I hope to end up in the single-digit mW range.

  2. What would be the lowest-power components required to drive a small e-ink screen?

  3. Does the 328P seem like a suitable controller, if I don't need any connectivity?

    Junior ist komischerweise jetzt erst bewußt geworden, dass ich Softwareentwickler vom Beruf bin.
    Jetzt möchte er auch einer werden. Er möchte Roboter programmieren und für diese einen Pupsmodus entwickeln.

    @phranck ok, und mit dem Bambu bist Du natürlich auch geschwindigkeitsverwöhnt 😉 Ich vermute, die Gridfinity-Schächtelchen, die sich gerade bei mir in den nächsten 4 Stunden manifestieren, würden auf dem Bambu maximal die halbe Zeit brauchen...

    Track your filament!
    Bought a spool? Put the date on the box.
    Opened a fresh spool? Copy the buy date, put down the open date. Weigh the full spool and note the total weight.
    Want to know how much filament is left? Weigh it and compare to the initial weight!
    Want to know which filament to use up next? Check the "opened" date!
    Look for unpopular filaments (don't restock)? Check the "buy" date!
    Helpful for debugging print problems, too.

    @phranck there are nerd solutions.
    There's an Octoprint plugin which tracks spools - you have to select the spool before starting to print, and it will update the "quota".
    There's another project which integrates an electronic scale in the spool holder.
    Of course, you could hack something together with an RFID reader and put RFID tags on your spools...
    ...but for my moderate consumption (10-15 kg of filament per year?) this method suffices totally (for me).

    We had to cut down an apple tree.

    It looks better than it is - there is some fungus in the upper part of the wood which is a shame. But still - its cut into slices and will now dry for some 5+ years.

    2 more cherry trees and a plum tree also will have to go and hopefully be sawn up properly.

    Gladly there's enough space to store them to dry.

    @mcfly down the road, a mammoth tree (I would guess 20-30 m high) was cut down. I hope they do something useful with the wood...
