NEW YORK (Reuters) - Martin Shkreli, known for once hiking the price of a life-saving drug more than 4,000%, cannot return to the pharmaceutical industry after a federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld his lifetime ban....
This is a legitimate desire, I think. Being able to see more of what’s ahead is really luxurious and makes the whole driving experience feel safer (for drivers, anyway.) That said, now that every car on the street is a damned SUV, you’d need a damned semi truck to gain any real visibility advantage. Driving a “normal” car is like being the only dwarf in the NBA.

Who gives a shit about his offspring? What a ridiculous red herring. What’d be nice is a PRESIDENT who isn’t a problematic embarrassment of a human being, but somehow Trump’s chances aren’t even slim.

I don’t even see how this changes anything. The cops kill people all day every day and never see consequences besides paid vacations. The legal system is a (dark) joke on everyone but the rich.
Why is this important to point out? Are you saying if they collectively decided to spend 10% of it to solve most of the country’s problems, they’d be “declined” at the bank? Because unless it somehow means they couldn’t do unimaginable good for fucking everyone and still only suffer 10% of a loss, why is this important to point out?
Again, though, I just don’t think the “how” is important. Sure their money isn’t in cash. The point is their financial means doubled, while the vast majority of the rest of us got / are getting fucked.
I would seriously look inward and figure out why you think your point is anything other than a veiled distraction, let alone somehow relevant to the root problem being discussed here.
Step One is to help both sides realize that “left” nor “right” are worthwhile distinctions. It’s haves and have-nots. Everything else is distraction to pit us against each other.
Police are just high-school dropouts living on welfare under the guise of “doing a job” because they drive or walk around all day. I guess that’s “earning a living”?
Well I suppose I’ve assumed “ACAB” is effectively interpreted as “American Cops are Bastards”. Obviously other countries do it far better, but it’s our reality over here. I’m sure there are numerous good apples here too, but they’re a consolidated force so it seems fair to judge them by the behaviours they show us as a group, generally.
Also potentially useful in HUD (heads-up display) tech, like in planes and cars. Currently they’re projected onto treated glass but this could yield better contrast?
No super obvious “mainstream” applications that I can think of, but markets find a way…

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
If it weren’t for the popcorn and those cool Coke vending machines with seemingly infinite flavours, there would be zero draw at all for me. And even then, I haven’t been in years. Both of things cost about the same as a ticket, and I feel like an idiot paying 3000% markup for it in public.
