CPC debating about drugs tonight. Eh, I don't think we're watching the same ads 😂 🤨

"I remember growing up as a teenager in the 1980s, and we would see commercials on TV. One commercial said, “This is your brain, and this is your brain on drugs.”

What are the commercials that we see right now? “Do drugs with a friend.”

I'll never understand the whole "they shouldn't complain, it was always this bad". How about we strive for better?

If we don't fight now, there won't be anything left to fight for in a couple of generations.

Apparently, there is potential asbestos exposure at Place du portage III right now. If you know public servants working there, they might want to go to a collab space for the rest of the week.

A robin and a squirrel are both running around in the backyard in the rain. So cute. Eat well, my tiny friends

The House is sitting until midnight tonight and tomorrow, and it's not even June yet.

It will suck to do this for six more weeks and not get the summer off like the other translators (I'll get a few extra days). Going back will suck until we figure out a way to bring me over permanently.

... "think about the future, think about the future" 😆

It's mental health week at the government!

It's important to know that almost every decision made, and especially the ones made to save money, are made to the detriment of public servants' mental health.

Return to the office, using (bad) contractors, etc., etc.

Oh wtf, I had missed this news.

About the future museum of Québec's history:

Legault said that Québec's history starts with Champlain's arrival... and the the First Nations are our PREHISTORY.

Wtf. Wtf.

Edit: He's not the one who actually said it, but he agreed with it.

Our big trees have been adopted by Capital forest!! The woman was ecstatic, said they were beautiful trees. And she'll send us the exact spot later so we can go and visit them!! Making Ottawa greener 😍

Well, I think it's time this week to tell my new manager that I'd like to stay (if they would have me; but I've gotten enough positive feedback to think so).

The work and schedule are harder, but everything else is so much better.

A huge thanks to my husband who had a veto vote on this if he needed it. Instead, he'll be changing his schedule a bit so we can go to bed later and sleep later in the morning, and spend more time together. He's the best ❤️

I'm so proud of my union for taking big stances now, at work and elsewhere. And then people in my department are... selfish and awful. Complaining about them doing more than just working for us.

Genocide in Palestine is not a "Hamas talking point" wtf. Ugh.

"The feedback I'm getting is that this decision is not based on the quality of work from public servants who currently have hybrid work arrangements, but is really a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to this perception that you need to be in the office to do good work, and I personally reject that.

We saw a fairly significant shift in people being able to spend more of their time and more of their money in North Grenville, so it was a net benefit to us."

Finishing work at 11:30 pm tonight instead of 2 am (yesterday)! I must prefer earlier starts, even if it means more hours to work.

Almost the weekend 😄

If public servants have to go back to the office 3 days a week... Do they finally get back what they had before 2020?

  • an assigned cubicle?
  • a locker to put their personal items?
  • two monitors when needed?
  • on-site keyboards and mice?
  • a bedbug and bat free office? (haha joke, that never happened, even before 2020)
