The Last Of Us Remake on PC had some issues at the start, most of them seem fixed. It's an amazing game and looks gorgeous.

I do think Apple is going to be in a tough spot with game devs for visionOS. Sessions make it clear that hand tracking just won’t be accurate enough for anything fast-paced, and everything has to be re-hosted using Apple APIs to do even basic things with the system compositor. I expect there will be a rising chorus of ‘we need hand controllers’ at the very least. If Apple doesn't have hand controllers of some kind by version 2.0, it could negatively impact the platform for years to come

Surprising nobody, there's now a "UIUserInterfaceIdiomReality" so you can see if your UIKit app is running on an Apple Vision Pro.

(Though I do wonder if this will be updated to match the marketing name).

    @gruber @matt I have that same iPad. Recently wiped and restarted from scratch (I had a battery drain issue even when idle). I enabled Stage Manager (+Display Zoom > More space) and it’s been rock solid and really enjoyable.

    Guess who learned the Apple Watch's "swipe red icon to the right" item after you hold the standby button to shut it down is NOT the shut down option? That it calls 911? That I sleep with both a sleep apnea mask and no glasses and cannot focus within a couple feet? Fortunately, the 911 operator gets this ALL the time.

    I’ll totally consider getting a lager iPad Pro if that does indeed happen, but I can’t ever see myself using a 13” because my past attempts make it just too large for me to use in bed/the bath. One that is big enough to not trick me into using in bed is fine, but if I’m honest, I’d rather have touch and ink supper on a proper Mac.

    When I used to hear gun advocates say things like “Cars are a deadly weapon, should we ban those too?” my response would be “Well they aren’t as deadly as guns, but actually we do heavily regulate them, and it has worked to reduce the danger” etc. now my response would be, “You know what, you’re right, let’s ban cars too!”

    Is this radicalisation?

    People telling me I should be “nicer”: the older I get, the less I prioritize that. I strive (though sometimes fail) to be kind, honest, and generous, but “nice” seems less important every day, especially when it gets in the way of the others.
