I think is at the stage where electricity was in the late 1800s. Tons of incompatible standards run by unregulated companies, people electrocuting themselves at their homes, and promises of electricity as the ultimate cure-all.

It has tremendous potential for the future but it absolutely has to be strongly regulated, and the worst excesses curbed.

I have yet to see a SINGLE tool that successfully carries out a complex task.

Mimic anything? No problem. Actually do something that comprises several steps? ALWAYS fails. In 100% of cases.

peeps, how would you somehow mark or make a list of clips on the timeline that have some sort of transform (scale), stabilization and/or a specific effect applied?

I have to do a conform in Resolve from graded clips and would like to save some time, not having to check each clip for these adjustments.

The new #Sonos app is getting even worse! After the last update, the local Music Library takes like 5 seconds after launch to even appear, and then AFTER YOU PLAY SOMETHING, IT DISAPPEARS ALTOGETHER.

Fusion in

I use the Camera tracker, solve the track, want to set the ground plane. No matter what or how many track points I select, clicking Set ground plane fails with "0 locators selected". I AM selecting ones from the supposed ground plane. Resolve 18.6.

Is it a me error or yet another buggy Resolve feature? If it's a me error, this software is totally incompatible with me.

More joys of

Out of 367 clips in this timeline (that we have to transfer from Premiere to using SendtoX), 40 files randomly do not relink. Checksums match, no weirdness in file paths.

And that's where you just stop. Nothing you can do 🤷

Things most camera operators are 100% incapable of doing:

  • not tweaking framing during takes
  • shooting shots with displays to be tracked wider so the entire fucking screen is visible (footage is all 2.5k with 1080p deliverables)

I use the new Arc Search as the default browser on iOS now and it's amazing with a few exceptions. You can't force an insecure connection, and sites with basic HTTP auth (like a lot of self-hosted stuff) won't let you... Auth. I have to use Safari for that (pictured).

Will forward this to devs.

Reminder: it's very much possible that the Dry mode on your may be enough to cool down the place, while drawing just a fraction of electricity.

It's the humidity that creates the feeling of heat.

Our Daikin split draws just about 1/5 of power and in the summer sucks 20 LITERS of water a day in a 770 sqft (72m2) apartment

Why I'm sticking to ? Because at the end of the day, it's brutally effective. All NLEs have bugs and quirks, but I just fly with FCPX. You can be fast in all NLEs, but things like keyword ranges and the magnetic timeline are just crazy efficient.

LIfe with is full of surprises. Right now, I can not draw masks in . I can add the first point but not any more. I can draw shapes in the exact same way, but not masks.

Latest version on Mac.

So a thing that should take 10m tops sets you on a crazy tangent without clear end in sight.

Anyone with the H2 V2S? I love it but I don't understand how is the tensioner screw is supposed to work.

What does the screw do? What is supposed to do the actual compression of the spring? It doesn't seem to do anything at all. The screw moves up and down when screwing but no compression of the spring is taking place.
