I’ve noticed that there seems to be an ongoing national shortage of dark chocolate digestives. By that, I mean store brand dark chocolate digestives. There are plenty of branded ones on the shelves, and store brand milk choc ones.

I don’t want to buy the Big Brand biscuits. I’ve been boycotting that company for various reasons for years, and it happens store brand are often way cheaper - and just as tasty. But I miss dark choc digestives.

I suspect a Big Biscuit conspiracy. 🧐🤨

I noticed the same, but last year. I get my dark choc digestives from Aldi, and I actually prefer them to That Brand. No shortage at the moment in our local branch.

(I always keep a decent stock of them, after the period of shortage before. See also pesto, which I couldn't get for months during the pandemic. Bit of a first world problem I know, but I really missed it on my spaghetti!)

I’m standing right in front of the surgery receptionist to ask about making a non-urgent appointment to see a doctor or nurse.

"Use the online system."

But I’m standing right here, right now. Why can’t I make an appointment?

"Computer says no."

😡🤬

I should’ve stood my ground. Worse, the online system only accepts appointments during surgery opening hours. I mean, pardon? WHAT? WHAT‽ It’s a feckin' computer. It should work ANY time!

You have my sympathies!

We have the same issue with our GP surgery, the website only works for appointments/repeat prescriptions etc during office hours.

At least we can go in and book stuff. As it's only 5 mins away, that's often quicker than phoning.

Doedd dim cerdyn penblwydd naw deg unfed i Fam Alfred, felly, wnaethon ni creu'n fyrfyfyr...

There was no ninety-first birthday card for Alfred's Mum, so we improvised...

The card is turned upside down so that the number reads 91, and the Happy Birthday text has been cut out and turned over, and is now above the number .

I've started making the bulrushes, for the canal bank. They are pieces of wire, with small pieces of insulation.
