@Vivaldi yep I back up my bookmarks physically every 4 days too. Plus import them to all browsers I have installed on the Mac. (In total I therefore have them in , , , , , ). Paranoid much about losing them. 😉

@ivory My mute filters are visibly applied to Home and Mentions but not to the Notifications list. I've enabled them across the board, though. What am I doing wrong?

@ivory It was the issue on the Mac that some Toots display without the images loading, just blank space showing. Particularly an issue with posts from the BBC News feed.
It was reported on here.

@ivory I know what you are saying but all I can say is that if I use on the iPhone / iPad in parallel with the Mac the images load just fine on those devices, only the Mac has the issue.

I've also tried other Mastodon clients on the Mac and they too are fine.

This is what boggles the mind as the images must be on the instance.

Finally the issue was there on the old instance I used and still there on the current one.

Again only with Ivory on the Mac. You can see why I’m confused.

@ivory Guys ref the query I mentioned a few weeks ago over Toots from the BBC News service not having images showing in Ivory on the Mac. You thought it was a Mastodon problem / timing issue (IIRC).
However I've now tried three other Mac Mastodon clients and they don't have any problem is showing the images.
Also Ivory on iOS and the iPad doesn’t have the issue, it's just the Mac version.
Cam you please re-investigate?

@ivory Guys with Ivory on the Mac I've noticed that that the ‘bell icon' in the side bar doesn't show the ‘new' dot until the app is opened. Similarly the app icon doesn't show any counts at all, wether the app is opened or not.
I've unset / re-set the notification options in Ivory / turned off / on again Notifications in macOS system settings.
Any ideas, on iOS and iPadOS I don't seem to have the issues, just on the Mac?

Apple has announced some SWEEPING changes coming to the App Store in the EU with iOS 17.4:

  • Alternative app marketplaces
  • 0% commission for apps sold outside the App Store, with 0% commission on alternative payment methods (!)
  • Third-party browser engines now allowed (!!)
  • Game streaming now allowed on the App Store
