Alle paar Wochen gibt es auf Golem.de einen Artikel, der sich über neue russische und chinesische Chips schon fast lustig macht. "Technische Stand von vor 10 Jahren" und so.

So witzig finde ich das eigentlich gar nicht. Denn Russland und China bauen wenigstens eigene Chips, sammeln Erfahrungen, lernen dazu und werden vielleicht in den nächsten Jahren aufschließen. Und sind danach unabhängig.

Was ist mit uns? 🤷‍♂️

Dass man nicht aus dem Stand neue tolle Chips bauen kann, die mit aktuellen Topmodellen mithalten können, dürfte ja auch klar sein. Insofern finde ich die westliche (?) spöttische Haltung irgendwie dumm.

@Hughenknubbel ja, wir haben Firmen, die irgendwie beteiligt sind. Aber was ist aus dem Projekt geworden, das mal einen Europäischen Chip rausbringen sollte? Ich habe den Namen vergessen. Wahrscheinlich, weil ich nie wieder davon gehört habe ;)

Former CEO of Twitter wanted to build a social protocol no-one can control, like SMTP or HTTP for social media. Bluesky’s ATProto was supposed to be an open source protocol that Twitter could eventually utilize, but then Musk happened and Bluesky started taking it to the wrong direction and everything fell apart in Dorsey’s mind.

A very revealing interview. I now see even more future in W3C’s ActivityPub.
