I suppose my one other thought about Starforged is it really does prove GMs are superfluous; they really were just making it up the whole time.

Reading starforged it’s interesting that in a game where everything is random, from the core principles of the setting to what you had for lunch, chargen isn’t.

@golgaloth oh so this is a larger philosophical design issue - you want determinism to carry over everywhere. That makes sense. And likewise it would make way more sense of chargen here was random.

@golgaloth theoretically a high stat is exactly that: a story manipulation of the dice. But a lot of systems are very swingy

    Sometimes I’m so bored of rpgs and I never got to be super famous at them. And now the next generation is here. But I’m bored because I’m good at it. I can do them well too easily. Every morning I am trying to figure out who the hell I am and if it matters at all. Lost from myself because I keep changing.
