For me the thing about income inequality is this:

Is there someone who works TWICE as hard as me, thus deserving twice the compensation? Sure. I'm lazy, some people are very driven.

Is there someone who works TEN TIMES as hard as me, needing 10x the income? Maybe, briefly, before burning out, compared to one of my worst days.

Is there someone who works SEVERAL THOUSAND TIMES harder than me?

...no. No there is not.

@SirTapTap The bigger problem with income inequality is the falsehood of "meritocracy" and who unilaterally decides what's "hard work" or not. Why do "burger flippers" get such a bad rep as the "bottom of the bin" type of job when they work much harder (physically, if not mentally) than a paper-pusher? To say nothing about whether those who can't/don't work "deserve" food and housing.

And that's without even getting into the whole "capitalism death cult" thing where everyone suffers in the end.

@SirTapTap Yeah, there's really no conceivable reason why you should "need" millions of dollars a year, beyond whether you "deserve" it or not. What can you possibly be buying for that much money that will in any legitimate way improve your life? What do you even do with a fourth yacht?!

@Imperor I don't have a lot of time to watch livestreams myself, but I would absolutely prefer to actually see the people playing the game! I've been wanting to set up my own nonsexually topless TTRPG livestream for a while now (to normalize the sight of female nipples outside of sexual situations) but it's been a challenge, both finding a non-porn site that'd allow it, and finding TTRPG players willing to be topless on camera that aren't cis dudes 😅

I'm always bemused by videos where you watch the creator pretend to be shocked or surprised as they enter some new space but you know they've been there before because they had to put the camera in first. Yeah.

For some reason this reminds me of home-renovating shows where you're contractually obligated to act as if you love all the random changes. I tried the first ep of "hack my home" and the geniuses put moving walls...in a house full of children...that would TOTALLY play w/the controls and get crushed by the walls...if I was a parent on that show, I'd be screaming "wt actual f" at the hosts
