You'd think with all the AI hype there'd be some comment from the FTC about nvidia holding a monopoly position. Guess they're a bit too busy with the 'affordable luxury' handbag problem.
So, I finally finished the basic bring-up of the board I’ve been assembling the last couple of days. I found the dead short from 3V3 to GND under the ADC, but needed to do a lot of digging to find it.
Right now, the MCU seems to work using its internal oscillators, and a quick poke shows that the 12MHz crystal is working too. The I2C ADC and GPIO expander appear to be responding, but the RTC isn’t (yet?)
I also think I melted the push-buttons because they don’t push now, and there’s one LED I forgot to hook up to anything in the schematic…
Shutdown of 3G networks a ‘health and safety issue’ for some regional Australians
Telcos have promised no loss of coverage when the 3G network shuts down, but farmers outside of official coverage areas are worried their lifeline will turn off
@anathema_device First world problems, but my 6-year old connected vehicle will have no signal for real-time traffic updates (and probably other purposes that I will have the potential misfortune of discovering) when 3G drops. This is in suburban Melbourne, so I'd hate to see the ... disconnection ... in rural areas.
So I'm currently toying around with NeoCities, and decided to trial it by building your classic mid '90s Geocities/Tripod/Angelfire pastiche website.
Some of the most important elements are already in place.
Tile background? Large font? Heading in bright pink with a shadow? Unusual colour choices? Random cat gifs? Under construction gif? Check! Check! Check!
In the true spirit of the '90s DIY web, some more pages (including the links page) are coming soon.
(I'm thinking of adding a page dedicated to either Britney or a nu-metal band.)
#LazyWeb: I'm trying to find a white paper? from 1-2 years ago that was arguing for a third classification in Australian universities - to add a specific research software engineering category, because professional/general and academic pathways don't account for specialist software engineering skills.
It's not the #ARDC survey report, but is possibly in a similar space?
