Today is going to be a very interesting discussion at my synagogue's book club. Also Snow in August is a deeply disappointing book that clearly shows why "own voices" books are necessary.

My for today:

I thought I would have to go to the car repair shop today but I think I have it fixed myself

I should have a check from a class I taught hitting my account soon

I've already hit one of my writing goals this morning

My for today:

It's my synagogue's movie club day.

I'm going to the library.

It looks like there's no issues in filing my ADHD prescription (knock on wood).

2.7 — Complete this phrase: I write because…

It’s usually fun and it improves my mental health. Writing nonfiction is like putting together a puzzle. Writing fiction gives me space to explore.

I have a queer, contemporary, cozy fantasy story out in the December issue of Factor Four Magazine. https://factorfourmag.com/the-freedom-to-decide-by-w-l-bolm/

My story is out today in Fantasy Magazine!

This story is based on the monstrous half-Christian, half-Muslim child in the medieval romance 'The King of Tars.' https://www.fantasy-magazine.com/fm/fiction/negative-theology-of-the-child-from-the-king-of-tars/

30: Silly responses to saying "I'm a writer"?

I once went on a date with a guy who ran a small time sci fi con. This was after I started volunteering for WisCon.

Once I told him I was a writer, he gave me much unsolicited writing advice (he was not a published author). When I told him the authors I was reading at the time (and who write books in my wheelhouse) he was super dismissive.

I think it was the year after I moved that a con he was running had a huge race fail.

Just looking up synonyms for "arsenal" -- how's your day going?

@annaleen my raspberry bush is the only thing enticing me into my backyard to do yard work, which is good because it really needs to get done

wlbolm,

@annaleen It helps that my raspberries are becoming purple and delicious right now, but my grandparents had a raspberry bush growing against their house when I was a kid, so there are very good memories attached to it.

@shauna @bookstodon The Ballad of Perilous Graves has won a couple of awards, but I don't think was nominated for any majors. It was amazing. @bookstodon

I appreciate the new genre of tv where Natasha Lyonne plays a sexy angry grandpa solving crimes.
