xploit,

But the people in South Dildo, N.L. know exactly why it is named the way it is 😏
(Yes that one is real too, and as you’d guess it’s south of Dildo)

xploit,

You can also pierce your ear drum with that thing (if something hits your elbow at the wrong moment) …about 12 years later and it’s almost as good as it was before it happened 😎😵

xploit,

You’d think that’s the insurance companies would be greedy enough to sue oil companies for damages, you could probably try to make that case, but alas it’s easier to drain regular people dry and then fuck off.

xploit,

Dethklok seems pretty safe.

There isn’t all that much out there about Brendon Small though and what I could find he should be a decent enough person…plus I liked Metalocalypse quite a bit, so that helps me 😁

Dunno much about Bryan Beller, Nili Brosh or Gene Hoglan, just saw a few random videos with them so hard to gauge.

xploit,

Don’t worry, no poor people will be hurt by this decision, at least not more than they’re already hurting themselves by electing thieving bastards.

Same kind of people were getting the money anyway, so this is just rich not wanting the slightly less rich, but not smart enough to bribe lobby correctly, to get more money.

I have, what you may call “close ties” with one of those countries so “pretend” communism isn’t any better. (hint: most of my life wasn’t spent in the “west”)

xploit,

It would be fun to see what would happen if single citizen/PR over 18 wasn’t allowed to own more than 2 properties per province, 1 per region and corporations couldn’t own anything that isn’t an apartment building.

I’m sure it’s not that simple to proof it against abuse those useless realtor wankstains like to come up with, perhaps break-up that oligopoly at the same time?

It would still allow couples to technically own 4 homes which does sound like a lot in the long run, but it could be tweaked as things shape up.

I still like my NoScript, sometimes I just take it as an indicator of who makes shitty sites.
If I end up on a site that’s completely blank and it isn’t important for me to interact with it, Ieave.
Surprisingly even news sites often load better than most others with NoScript disabling everything on them, I guess at the end of the day they still really need people to read them otherwise they’d become completely irrelevant?

I’ve seen complaints (Reddit I think?)that it just makes it cumbersome to do stuff when there are cascading lists of domain opening as you enable one, but if you’re the kind of person that permanently whitelists all of them at that point, I don’t think any amount of add-ons are going to save you, but I do like puzzles so I don’t mind figuring out what needs to be toggled for site to work.

The big downside is making payments on sites with silly amounts of 3rd parties involved (Im looking at you Costco), but it’s a bit better than it used to be when there was concern about getting charged twice, now it’s more like…don’t get charged and wonder why they didn’t process your payment.

Edit: is it NoScript or ublockorigin that blocks ads on prime video? It’s one or the other which is nice if you’re watching something on pc rather than TV, I guess I should test.

xploit,

You want Tubular for Android TV though as newpipe doesn’t work on it. Navigation is not great on Android TV, specifically on a video that’s playing but you get used to it.

xploit,

Thanks for the info, I definitely have to consider an alternative like that in the future.
For the time being I tend to just enable 1 domain at a time temporarily and see if shit works, if it doesn’t, disable it again. It works ok, as I’ve gotten used to seeing a specific few domains or commonalities between the payment type ones. But yeah probably similar to you I keep very few things allowed by default globally and have even begun reducing them lately.

If it’s a really big hassle atm I’ll revert to chrome (didn’t have to yet) since those fuckers already have my card details anyway, but luckily I don’t really do all that much shopping online so not a huge issue…the most common thing I do is top up my travel card for local transport and I use it like once a month, so that probably tells you a lot.

Republicans Worry They Could Lose the House—Before the Election (time.com)

When Republicans gained control of the House in November 2022, many in Washington wondered how they would be able to govern effectively with one of the slimmest majorities in history. Some Democrats even speculated if they might be able to take back the House before the term ended....

xploit,

Wouldn’t surprise me the least if these early retirements were all planned so that Dems get house control few months before elections, can’t accomplish anything with it because bunch of them are just as useless (double agents?) as republicunts, and republicunts get to blame all the inactivity over these two years on dems and everyone will eat it up

xploit,

Yup, they’ll probably have to add membership card scanner to food court and do exclusive self-order only on the touchscreens if they really want to “crack down” on this since you may still be allowed in if you say you’re going to the pharmacy.

Been to a few Costco’s in US/Mexico with outside food courts too, so that would be about the only way, unless they build walls around them.

xploit, (edited )

Hmm, it’s almost like we should focus considerably more on simple vehicles instead of complex subscription shit boxes that we have, to cut down cost of manufacturing/materials/parts/labour and now insurance…no big money in that though.

Or you know …public transport is also pretty damn good option over any of this. Something drastic would have to change for trains/buses/etc to become commonplace in NA though, at least in some EU countries and a few other countries in the world there’s a bit of hope.

xploit,

It’s maddening isn’t it, and probably not that different between US and Canada.

I don’t think you even need to go as far as China to see autoindustryasshattery in effect, just look at our Southern neighbors in Mexico who aren’t getting fair share on the produced vehicles while parent companies/dealerships reap profits, but that’s probably a different conversation altogether…I mean something is seriously fucking wrong when a car dealer is also one of the biggest grocery chains and god knows what else (that one is Canada, not US)

xploit,

If you used a script and it worked first time, and you haven’t already checked that the script didn’t toggle itself off, I’d start with that. Always had that thing happen to me with a custom script I added to VLC and had to remember to toggle it each time I started VLC

xploit,

Who needs glue, if you’re hellbent on keeping it, stick the plastic back in and figure out a good place to put a screw/nail through and file it down if it goes out the other end.

If it breaks again you’ll most likely be forced to completely replace it though, which is a good thing as it will mean didn’t deserve the second life you’ve given it.

xploit,

How do you find anything useful on LinkedIn? (Serious question) Filtering on location with few of and/NOT search terms doesn’t yield many results. Their suggested jobs are irrelevant crap riddled with 95% repeating promoted crap that you can dismiss but your dismiss gets ignored.

I use indeed and it’s been steadily getting to the same point as LinkedIn where they repeat promoted shit, ignore filters you setup and just straight up serve useless garbage irrelevant to search terms.

Tried monster and zip recruiter couple of times, it was never better than any of the above so I didn’t bother continuing to try.

xploit,

FWIW we have dumb business owners to thank for that.

They’ve been doing this with the Indigo’s for 8+ years that I’m aware of, so probably much longer. And ofc businesses fell for it because just like most cloud shit, nobody can be bothered to calculate actual costs, just fudge stuff and get your bonus/pay rise for pretending to have done something beneficial.

xploit,

Oh, I’m not denying that they are greedy assholes. But at the same time I feel like we’re in that comic, they saw an terrible opportunity, implemented this shit and were like “no way anyone is going to fall for that”, and “we” allowed them to like “we” seem to do with many other terrible things in this world, and here we are with them laughing away at “our” stupidity.

There seem to be just enough dumb people around to enable assholes like this to exist, which I find sad and disturbing. It’s almost like there is a reason certain groups want people to stay dumb and ban books, ban those who are different from learning etc

Couple of other things about the print stuff; I seriously doubt this even needs to profitable for them in the short term (it likely is), so unless it’s dead on arrival, the longer it keeps going, the more chances this will be the only available solution…perhaps a last ditch effort to milk us dry before printing dies?

And for anyone who comes across this in the future, at best you’re paying 10x per page compared to what medium size business did many years ago, and no you’re not even getting a real service.

xploit,

Had an achilles injury long ago, along with some other issues and I overpronate - I found brooks adrenaline to be reasonably comfortable for the price (got 3 pairs for like 71 USD each on offer) though glycerin were more comfortable for walking (never seen hem on offer so far) due to extra cushion.

Worth a try in shop if you see them and are neutral walker/overpronator

realcaseyrollins, to moviesandtv

It did so during the actor's strike to finish the project before its copyright expired, the lawsuit alleges.

xploit,

It’s nice out here on open waters

xploit,

Nice, thanks. I generally tried to avoid tapping users/community but it’s good to know it had purpose for my use. Appreciate it…guess I’ll donate some more of my “imaginary” Google wallet rewards fund whatever the fuck it’s called that I can’t use for anything but apps anyways 🤣
