The Missus and I are going to Puerto Rico. She has (severe, chronic pain and fatigue) and is often fairly limited, physically. I wonder if folks familiar with PR across the fediverse can recommend activities for us (other than the obvious beach time) that will give her fun experiences without over-stressing her body. We will have a vehicle.

@rudiev All tech devices Apple sells have reached maturity levels that are hard to deviate from, especially considering the scale and internationality of their user base. I'm certain that there's another (and currently unsold!) set of tech devices that may get us excited once again someday. Apple has never been on the bleeding edge of consumer electronics, but they're good at following and understanding when to ship.

One of the things I enjoy as a parent is to go “playground hunting” with the kids. We hop in the car and try to find new playgrounds nearby. This time around, we stopped at Big Chimney Park. It wasn’t our first time, though. We found it a while back and continue to visit it; the community takes good care of it! It also has some sweet rides, including a “manual merry-go-round.” You always end up in sweat, but it’s worth it. Just take a look at the enjoyment!

    @markwyner I got a kid-sized shoehorn. Now I don’t need to wrestle with my kids when trying to put their shoes on. Their tiny feet slip on like butter; miraculous!

    Thinking about finding IT job in climate and today I started looking for area of monitoring of weather/climate disasters and following crisis response. What I have found, however, is climate risk modeling and predicting for companies to prepare / get insurance / mitigate, as well as emission accounting / estimation used to strategise how to lower them. Perhaps just govs&orgs work directly with disasters? Examples and pointers to such IT careers welcome
