Great! Next year we will receive support in the open-source toolkit🙃

A few months ago I saw a picture of this weird computer made of wood. I went to LA to meet the guy who made it, and found a new vision for how we build and use gadgets. And, of course, to play with the wood computer! https://www.theverge.com/23841276/mythic-computer-keegan-mcnamara-pc-builder

Please boost for a wider demographic.

I'm addicted to listening to documents before bed (easily found on youtube). Usually there is such nonsense that I fall asleep without problems right in the middle of the story🙂

I have come to the conclusion that dealing with such gems is a highly inefficient waste of my time. I'd rather test and improve support for the chip series I have, and CMake-something will make someone smarter than me.

PET-G is strong, but it lacks flexibility - snap fasteners made of it must be planned to work at an offset of less than 1 mm, otherwise these things just break off.😕

I could have used PLA, but... it's near the engine and the last thing I want is to get something melted.

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@linusstaf

That's an interesting idea about orientation! I'll have to give it a try.👍

About flexibility, they say PETG is terrible. I've kind of already seen it for myself.🙂

Makes sense, I'll try that.

I love power failures - a quick dash in the direction of the 3d printer to get the filament out of the hotend is so invigorating.

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@davidbruchmann
The 3D printer is all heaters and motors, will the UPS be effective? How will this current affect the life of the batteries, I wonder? I'm just thinking about the feasibility of buying one...

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@davidbruchmann

let's see... In December, some moron drove into a power line pole, and today it might have rained on the electrical panel.

Probably not worth buying:)

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@PuririSplinter
What can I say, I have a fully metal hotend, if the fan stops while the hotend is hot, the filament starts to melt where it should not melt and just perfectly sticks to the metal and then clean it out of there is one inexpressible pleasure.

You must have a different metal.

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@Triffen @PuririSplinter
Oh yeah, I even have a souvenir from last summer - after the accident I was able to clean with a needle, but apparently some particles still stuck to the tube and the thing began to clog constantly. In the end I just replaced the whole.
The thing is that they are cheap heatbreaks from AliExpress, God knows what they sell under the guise of titanium😜

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@davidbruchmann

Just for the record - consumption when printing PLA 198C/66C

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@Andrew Well yes that is true, I can only add that from experience, that the numbers printed on the face of UPS to some extent reflect the real capabilities, but they need to divide by about two.

So if I do decide to buy a UPS for this printer, it will be 1 kilowatt :)

First version of the keyboard panel, let's see how it goes in terms of tolerances and stuff after printing.😉

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

It's a classic pusher design, heavy and noisy. The other option I'm considering is a-la Prusa, but there the appearance suffers 🙂

yrabbit,
@yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@aeberbach
If it's about the Prusa, I have no idea - I only looked at the design of the reset button, but for an 8x4 keyboard that design is poorly suited
