I'm looking for PC games that I can play while listening to podcasts- games that don't have engaging cut scenes or important dialogue, games that honestly don't require a lot of skill or thought....
This goes out to all the homies that don't have the time/energy to moderate, and to the ones that do that would like ideas (If there's been posts about this already then I'm srry)
The search form has been fixed (if you were experiencing this issue). This time, the Docker recreate may take a bit longer. Moving forward, when making changes, I will create pull requests like everyone else and ask for your review. Sorry for the inconvenience. Soon, the first tagged release will also be available. It's time to...
The reddit blackout is even more effectivte than expected! 5177/8829 (~60%) of subreddits are still dark [1] and the posts per minute are down to 1000 from 1400 [2]....
Been using Keeper. I would run a self-hosted Bitwarden instance but I travel a ton and don't trust AWS / GCP with my data (would put it on a Raspberry Pi I have lying around). If I didn't travel, I would 100% have self-hosted it for the added security and peace of mind.
So far, I've had a great experience with Keeper. It hasn't had a breach in a hot minute, and it auto fills on all my devices perfectly regardless of OS. Very happy so far, but will probably move as soon as I stop travelling quite as much.
I'm 25 and I don't have a drivers license. I mean, I've never really felt the need to go and get one. Public transport is usually the fastest option where I live, and it takes a lot less responsibility to use it....
I would say it's sad, but it really is for the best (at least for me). kbin and Mastodon (haven't tried Lemmy) seem to be super promising and fill that same need for me. So far, I'm feeling incredibly at-home on the fediverse
Even will the current "jank" on kbin, I love it here. I'm really looking forward to seeing how nice this is in a few months, and I'll be around to see it. I just can't stand for Reddit killing off all my favorite apps and blackmailing Christian.
As a former redditor I am glad to have found a new "home" and I hope I'm not intruding. Nevertheless, we are all a huge migration that is bound to change how kbin works and we're bound to piss off some pre-migration Keebinetters. The fact you guys were here before and not in reddit makes evident you don't want this to become a...

What are some communities you'd like to see on Lemmy that don't exist yet?

Almost 5K Pirates migrated to lemmy. We're now 4th in lemmy communities browser! (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
Incredible growth. just goes to show how little we needed to be in Reddit....
What do you all use for password management?
I'm using KeePass currently, since I don't really want to use anything publicly hosted. But I was curious to see what other people have been using!
Why do people prefer cars over public transport?

A few thoughts about the blackout and the future development of the Fediverse.
It started as an answer to a comment, but then I figured it might be worth a post on it's own....
Looks like federation is working again!
I just saw some posts from beehaw.org and lemmy.world, looks like we're back in business!
Ripples Through Reddit as Advertisers Weather Moderators Strike (www.adweek.com)
Reddit is redirecting some impressions away from existing communities, and some advertisers are pausing campaigns.

A lot subreddits end their blackout tomorrow. Will you go back to Reddit, or continue with kbin and the Fediverse?
I haven't used Reddit at all since the blackout began. Even if they change course, the Fediverse is growing on me, and I think I'll stay here....
The Migration seems to be going well! 125k on kbin.social instance alone, and over 100k across Lemmy!

Federation status: ON
Seems like the federation was turned on not long ago. It's very exciting to be part of kbin's growth!
Dear pre-migration Keebinetters, how can we NOT ruin kbin for you?
