While most of these are a good rule of thumb, I disagree with 'Always Happy to Help.' > 'No Problem.'
'I'm Always Happy to Help' is a fine response, if you're actually willing to make your time available for the recipient at the drop of a hat. Sometimes that's called for, but I would only reserve it for a few very specific circumstances. I also don't see an issue with saying 'no problem' most of the time. There are situations where something a little more formal is called for, but 90% of the time 'no problem' should work imho.

Does anyone have any advice on whether to use #threads or #microblogs when you're looking to say, start a discussion about a topic on #kbin? Is there an etiquette for what option is best? Or do people just pick depending on their mood (having a Twitter vs a Reddit sort of a day)?
NCD was one of my absolute favorite subbreddits, and one of the few communities I was truly sad to leave behind. It looks like it may be destroyed anyway. Hopefully this means more users from the NCD community will move to federated communities like the one I'm familiar with on sh.itjust.works.
It remains to be seen. Imho, replacing the mods might as well be as bad as a ban. NCD has a really specific culture, and the shitposting really walks this tightrope between hilarious and annoying. The current mod team has, in my opinion, done a fantastic job of walking that line. Banning ERA posting is a good example. I'm not confident that they could successfully reshuffle the mod team without hurting the culture.
On Kbin I find that sorting by top, and then limiting top to the last 3 hours does a better job of showing stuff I'm subbed to. It's not perfect, but better.
I agree. There's a ton to be excited about with build 42, but the engine upgrades continue to be my favorite part about them, including the LOS improvements.
I'm also very happy to see them so open to customizability. It looks like, given what they said in the post, there will be multiple settings for LOS. I'll probably use the more defined LOS setting like you mention, but if someone wants to max out immersion, then it looks like they will have that option too.
I'm waiting to see them drive a car around with a resolution greater than 1080. That's one of the worst parts of playing zomboid right now imho, it looks so choppy if I don't take Sunday driver when I'm on my monitor. The FPS improvements seem very promising.
I used RiF to keep an eye on what is happening around us. My wife is still on Reddit. I was born and raised in the deep south. In 2020, we realized it was time to leave and came up with a plan. We basically lost my extended family and most of our friends....
It's not quite the same thing, but there is a podcast called QAnon Anonymous that might tie you over until a proper community is formed. It's hosted by three guys who delve into current events or specific conspiracy theories that QAnoners get up to. To be clear, they just explain the phenomena, they are not conspiracy theorists themselves.

Throughout the recent record-breaking and deadly heat wave that affected millions across Texas and other parts of the Southwest, major TV networks largely failed to report on the links between climate change and the extreme heat. Can't piss off the boomers by mentioning climate change, that would alienate 80% of a TV audience. There's still watchtime to be gained and sales to be had before the world ends.
I had a couple classmates that pretended to be vampires back in elementary and middle school. Theyโd pretend their Koolaid was blood, complain about the sunlight, and bite their friends a lot. Not enough to draw blood, though. I havenโt kept up with most of them, but one guy is a teacher now. He seems pretty normal.
Whether you started with a 2600 and a joystick in your hand, an N64 with a blistered palm or building your first PC in your teens, what is that one video game you've played at some point that to this day sits at the top of your list.
As I've gotten older and have less time to commit to competitive gaming, cooperative gaming still lets me enjoy challenging multiplayer experiences without having to worry about ELO or keeping up with the current meta as much.
As much as I love Helldivers (and I am very excited for the sequel coming out later this year), Deep Rock Galactic is undeniably the champion of the cooperative gaming genre. You can jump into almost any lobby of random players and be rocking and stoning together instantly. Deep Rock Galactic features many game mechanics that just naturally result in cooperative play, without the need to rely on voice or text communications (though, voice and text are available and used).
Not to mention that the devs are really really amazing. Seasonal updates always come free of charge. They have a battle pass system that is 100% free that just rewards cosmetics. If you don't get battle pass cosmetics by the end of the season, you can still earn all the cosmetics at a later date. The only DLC on offer are cosmetic packs, which are really cool, but the cosmetics you can earn in-game are also really cool. There's no pressure at all to spend more outside just buying the base game. I deeply appreciate them and how they conduct business.
Personally I really like that small house by the lake in rosewood. It's got convenient access to water for fishing, while still being at least somewhat close to town.
I really like the valley station bridge. It's quiet enough to be a safe place to build up, but also very close to a lot of good looting and action. Not to mention, the wrecked cars on the bridge offer a great source of training mechanics. There's a mechanic's shop really close by to the south, and with some luck, everything you need to get your first car up and running can be found here.
I'm also nostalgic for this settlement, as it's the first place I properly built up with my friends in MP.
