Think about things from the point of view of someone who has never used Reddit or the fediverse, but you've heard about them both from recent news articles and want to see what they are about....
agree. Part of why I liked reddit was that I could customize my feed to ignore political diatribe (left and right) and just read the feeds that interest me. Lemmy is so infested with leftists that it spills over into every part of their community
As things are I have to click on the link, whitch directs you again to the individual post and then you have to click AGAIN to make the image full screen. Thats also IF the image is viewable from KBin at all. Some times you have to click a link to see an image that is posted else where. Minor anoyance but images are a large part...
I really do like KBin and Lemmy and the fediverse on the whole, but development is still young and the userbase still growing. KBin is still basically early access, and Lemmy is buggy. I spent alot of time in reddit and I'm feeling the pain of trying to ween myself from it. Just wanted to here community perspectives and see how...
I know you can play the game at chrome://dino, but it doesn’t evoke the same nostalgic feeling of a 10yr old me turning on aeroplane mode and spamming space bar to try and beat my brother’s high score. Good memories.
As we start to see more users join, it's inevitable to see trolls (especially low-effort trolls) making more of an appearance and trying to be controversial and noticed....
I just want to point out that not everyone with an unpopular opinion is a troll. I think this is important as many people get victimized by a group for posting something unpopular, getting ganged up on. Be careful where you post!
So, this is coming from a reddit user. I don't really understand the microblog button and how/what kind of content it gives you and how it's organized. Can some one give a brief summation.
I don’t want to dox myself, but I’ve been at my job for 5+ years. I guess either my boss or I fat fingered something while I was on boarding, cuz just now I was going over some paperwork and… As far as my job is concerned I’m Native American. I am very much white. Nobody ever brought it up....
I had a couple classmates that pretended to be vampires back in elementary and middle school. They’d pretend their Koolaid was blood, complain about the sunlight, and bite their friends a lot. Not enough to draw blood, though. I haven’t kept up with most of them, but one guy is a teacher now. He seems pretty normal.
I imagine they are reaching there user capacity. Lemmy was never designed infrastructure wise to support so many. It was supposed to be a slow growing platform of small communities

OC Fediverse won't replace Reddit as long as Lemmy is the main platform being promoted

Did you ever have a classmate that pretended to be a vampire or some other supernatural creature? How much did they commit to it?
