The game is actually very close to what it promised initially. Obviously some things just aren't possible (you can't open every door to every building unfortunately) but cyberpunk has really come into it's own in the past few years. Not to mention that Phantoms Liberty is going to essentially be a soft relaunch along with a whole new story and world map. I'd say it's at least worth a couple more hours of trying it out.

Pour-over is generally speaking, the closest to what most people think of when they hear coffee. There's tons of articles and youtube channels to help you decide on the exact one you want, but the V60 is hard to miss with. Getting filters that fit is cheap and they should be at any grocery store. A hand grinder is the next investment, and there's tons to choose from. Generally the Hario ceramic coffee grinder is a good choice. Beans is where things get truly interesting. Go to some local shops, and try a cup. If you like it, ask if they sell it. If they do, boom done. Take it home and start dialing in your grind size and ratio. If they don't, no worries because you can still try another place and another cup.

At the end of the day look for a coffee that you enjoy amd is easy to make. Don't let anyone tell you what the "right" way to enjoy coffee is. Some coffee I drink black, but most I add a touch of cream and sugar. I like to try new coffee from different shops and origins, some find a bean they love and stick to it. Coffee is 100% about preference.

Pressure washer? Might be overkill, but if you get one with enough horsepower it could do the trick.

When I first realized that ADHD was a potential cause, it was like a light turned on. I watched some videos on symptoms to see if it lined up. Let me tell you, it is surreal hearing strangers describe your life to you. Glad he could get it addressed.

But you still got there, and we can all help each other

This reminds me of a line in Forrest Gump.

"And then in the desert, when the sun comes up, I couldn't tell where heaven stopped and the earth began."

It's beautiful

Finally getting into TotK. Bought a cheap projector so I can put it on the ceiling above my bed. Gonna lounge and play Zelda a lot.

Electricity can be generated sustainably. Rare earth metals can be recycled. We are working on alternatives to fossil fuels. Environmental issues aren't a zero sum game. You don't "Lose" just because something else also pollutes. It's an issue that is worked on systematically. Could it be a lot faster? Yes of course. But we work with what we have.

Data centers are also multi-use. You don't build a data center just to house your game. You pay for the space in one that already exists. A company can choose to make software available on a platform that is open to a large portion of the world, or it can spend cash and resources shipping boxes of plastic all over the world. The pollution and waste generated by shipping something across an ocean massive. Do you really want to put all that into the air so you can have the plastic circle?

How often does that happen these days though? Trading in games or lending to friends hasn't been worth it for a while. Trades are worth a handful of dollars and if your friends are adults they can probably afford their own game anyway. We cling too much to an era where people could still believe the earth would be fine. It's a hobby, is it really worth it?

I found the deck to be comfortable enough for my purposes. That being said a steam controller grip would be great.

I don't know about that. When I worked at a repair shop we had tons of tools specifically for melting glue without harming the hardware. I've melted the adhesive that holds together ipad minis with a specialty heat plate. Apple for sure needs to get their shit together and make user serviceable devices, but there's always a way around their bullshit.

A machine that grinds beans? You have been blessed by the workplace coffee gods! My work has a keurig and a fine selection of watery swill cups. I just brought my secondary setup from home. No amount of sugar or milk will fix K-cups.

About to start a 5e game in a custom "1001 Nights" inspired setting with a handful of standard fantasy races and beastfolk. Magic is uncommon among normal people, but the rich and powerful often have access to it. There are factions vying for control of magic and magical artifacts.

I've got a vagabond coyote (re-flavored wildhunt shifter) wizard who scraped together a magical repertoire in order to help his sister, a wild magic sorceress, learn control of her abilities. She was kidnapped in the dead of night without a trace and he vowed to find her. After a few years he tracked down a Djinn and asked to find his missing sister. It refused citing it's own limitations and some kind of abjuration magic. Instead he wished for the strength to find her. The Djinn being a Djinn, twisted the wish out of spite and cursed him with a monstrous form that appears when he is angry (barbarian levels). Now he seeks any artifact that could help him locate her, hoping the curse does not spread and make him a monster forever. Knowing how coveted magic and magical artifacts are he has opted to use a deck of cards as his spellbook. It has allowed him to keep it on his person even in situations where he would be disarmed. His spellcasting will be very Gambit flavored.

Mhhm, yup, people already on a myriad of medications definitely won't have any adverse reaction to MDMA and there are no medications that have negative interactions with it at all. And people with incredibly fragile mental states, the already suicidal, and people of varying different psychoses also definitely aren't already close to being a danger to themselves and others. Oh and how can we forget all the people who absolutely don't have unknown medical conditions that could be exacerbated by getting dosed with MDMA

Totally safe, totally cool

Dude, lawyer is literally one of the,"My kid is a big success" jobs. It's privileged because it requires a ton of work and study before you're even allowed to do it. Not to mention the insane amount of work the job itself is.

You earned that money and those days off.

Besides NADDPOD and Worlds Without Number, I've been enjoying Tales from the Stinky Dragon. It's a D&D podcast by rooster teeth and it has a wonderful chaos to it.

People really do sleep on the UI. I tried lemmy.world first and immediately got hit with a white background/black text site. I couldn't find a way to change it so I moved over to Kbin. Same deal, flashbang. But on Kbin the gear icon is obvious and the first setting is the site theme. That speaks to an understanding of the average user that I think will serve Kbin well.

When building your world, did you start micro or macro?

I did a bit of both. Got a continent name and the name of some regions. Then a few city names and important places in them. Working on the big stuff is fun, making countries, histories, that kind of thing. But the thing I like best is getting into the small details. What do the streets look like? Are there any vendors on the...

That honestly seems like the way to go. Though I've heard plenty of stories about worlds starting from a single town. I'm lucky in that my world is for D&D, so certain aspects can be shaped by players and I just need to make it fit somewhere.

Think of it like this, if reddit suddenly does a 180 and goes back to the old ways, you can just make another account. Another chance to experience it again.
