I’m confused now. I created a test account on my Calckey instance and followed a #kbin magazine from it. I’m able to tag the kbin magazine address in a post from the new account and it will show up in the microblogs section but the magazine account doesn’t seem to push the post to other accounts subscribed to the magazine that don’t know about the new Calckey account. Am I just misunderstanding how the magazine account works with federation? I guess I was expecting something more like what gup.pe or chirp social do and boost or push activities to all subscribed accounts regardless of where they are on the Fediverse.
I have been supporting Lemmy recently a lot and made posts about Lemmy that got big reach. Today, sadly the reddit account through which, I moderated a lot of subs and spent time on, comes to an end. The reason was because I spammed according to reddit, but the reality is that they have censored me because I was hurting Reddit....

There is a whole range of alternatives, several for microblogging (Misskey, Calckey, Pleroma, Akkoma, ...), some for macroblogging (Friendica, Hubzilla) and some that specialise in certain functions (e.g. Pixelfed for pictures, Bookwyrm for books, etc.). Some short descriptions can be found here in the JoinFediverseWiki: https://joinfediverse.wiki/What_are_Fediverse_projects%3F
