Comcast says it represents a 10 Gigabit cable internet network they are building (it doesn’t exist) so they are basically changing the meaning of the g from generation to gig to act like 10g is 5 generations better (or twice as fast)…or that they have a 10 gigabit network. Neither is accurate. It’s still just cable...
Comcast has reluctantly agreed to discontinue its "Xfinity 10G Network" brand name after losing an appeal of a ruling that found the marketing term was misleading. It will keep using the term 10G in other ways, however.
ruh roh, this does NOT bode well for one of my favorite scifi shows on tv, whenever an originator leaves or changes direct control, the production suffers. every time.
no, what you read was there was a pause in production, and the cast had been sent home from eastern europe, at the time the reporting was it was due to "location issues", but it seems now that the studio and the show runner had major budget issues, and it looks like the studio won the fight, but it's most likely going to cost the series in vision and quality, which is paramount for this particular project.
And now with the allied response, I'm sure to see Lemmy/Kbin antisemites wring their hands about the poor houthi mosques, schools, hospitals, and children, won't anyone at all think of the poor houthi children
It's a million movies with the current codecs right now, after these come out, codec with higher resolution than the human eye can register by an order of a thousand will start to be transcoded, because that's how everything works, storage, memory, processor everything is gaseous in that whatever magnitude once it exists programmers will create software which will utilize every single byte of it
why is life? excellent question. but then again so is, why not life? the existence or non existence of a "supreme creator" makes no difference at all except for those selling a system of morals with promises of an unproven afterlife.
in the morning i put a cup of black beans with lots of seasonings and blasted them for an hour in the pressure cooker. I also set up the rice cooker with rice and some frozen mixed vegetables.

Dude, I've blocked half the user base of LEMMY, MASTODON and KBIN for being terrorist supporting antisemitic "genocide" accusing cunts.
"Not immune"? lol This entire Fediverse platform is a sewer of Jew baiting, and Islamic terrorist support.
There's no MOD on any of these platforms who looks out for, or defends the Jewish community, and it's a free for all and a feeding frenzy when anyone has the temerity to say Islamic terrorism is bad, and Israel has a necessity in defending it's millions of citizens against murder, rape, and evisceration by bloodthirsty Nazi Arabs vowed to kill Jews.
I see you, and I support you, but the 95% of all the rest of the users in the Fediverse won't. This is digital pogrom, and all the kids are getting into it. It's a free way to attack Jews, but not see themselves as the same Nazi scum they've always been through antiquity.
Doesn't seem like a "double standard" to me, when the overwhelming percentage of victims of domestic violence are women, who need actual assistance first, and education about root causes later, you know, to preserve their physical safety and save their and their children's lives.
This is an actual standard based on decades of recorded experience.
The lemmy/kbin folks won't even code in a proper block feature, where mastodon devs have by default. On mastodon when you block another account they cease to exist, they can no longer see your posts or comments, can't vote on them, and can't comment under them. They're blocked.
On lemmy/kbin if you "block" someone, it's simply a mask, as you no longer are able to see their posts or comments, but they continue to be able to see your posts, comments and are able to vote and comment under them, which obviously, is ripe for continued abuse, and history mining, from accounts that one wanted to block in the first place.
As more members of the fringe are accepted, it raises questions about the future of the Republican Party. For many, it highlights a break within the GOP, often highlighted as a rift between those aligned with party leadership and an anti-establishment movement.
Institutionalized racism, misogyny, homophobia, and white Christian separatism as party platform. No matter how "conservative" Republicans claimed to be, The Southern Strategy was the core value and singular driving force for the past 60 years. MAGA isn't a symptom, it's result
Only the most foolish thought Republicanism was anywhere close to "mainstream" politics, or based on "conservatism", when it's only ever been what it now is, only hidden better. Since Trump somehow "won" in 2016, the masks are off.
Why would anyone with half a brain purposefully allow a mewling quimm like JACK to any of their social media data again, after what he did to the entire techniverse with Twitter?
I dunno ask all the family members of all the people ISIS murdered and enslaved, if the people they love who are gone and destroyed, will get another chance

One of the most brilliant things I've watched in a while, it's two years old, and it's over two hours long, but I found it both confirming things I already figured on my own, and illumination as to what's at the core of Web 3.0 : LINE GOES UP
Got back to lemmy barely today, was reading worldnews and put some comments. Got banned in 20 minutes. What happened to this place? People were complaining about reddit mods and now this? You can spread antisemitic propaganda freely and we can’t even comment? Fucking hell

Lemmy is not immune to trolls, bad fait actors or propaganda - in fact, despite how bad reddit is, a lot of Lemmy instances are worse
